thank you very much. Great video.

Stephen Dinale says:

While i understand you took your time making the video and explaining
things for the viewers, that was a really slow and painfull way of loading
a grease gun.

Retract rod and compress spring. Unscrew top of gun. Release rod which
shoots out empty cartridge, preferably straight into bin. Retract again and
load new cartridge. Refit top of gun till its tight and unscrew 1 turn.
Release rod which drives grease to the top of gun. After the air pocket has
escaped screw gun together tightly. On the rare chance you need to bleed it
that bleed air as your gun is designed to.

That gun really needs to be retired. You can get one with a bleeder valve
that is like a big grease nipple. Press down on the ball bearing with your
fingertip to release the air. Job done. I’ve been using a Alemlube 660A gun
for many years and have never had a problem with it.

Troy Kleeman says:

Useful video! Thanks!

iman says:

What is your opinion on mixing different types of greases. That might be a
good next video.

Pete Yeakley says:

Thanks you !!!!!!!!!!!! This help me out big time!

GasGiant62 says:

That’s the best part——getting your hands dirty! Great video.

Phil schmid says:

bud u didnt wipe that last pump off the pull tab

adrian961 says:

I always have a problem with the oil separating from the grease and making
a mess.

Don Day says:

thanks for the tip…… was having problem with spring pushing grease up thru’
the cartridge. will bottom ends and try again. Hopefully I can get it
lined up and not have to replace with another new cartridge.

Stephen Darcy says:

Hi Mate from Australia. Thanks for your tips.

Todd White says:

With the convenience of air tools, didn’t know anybody still used the
manual guns. Have you done a video on over greasing? or one on how &
where to use the needle tip?

Robert Easterling says:

Liked your video; but the whole grease gun thing is junk.. You would
think after all these years of dealing with a lousy greasy grease gun
someone would come up with a better (cleaner) idea.. Everytime I use one
of those things it make me mad…

chevymalipoo says:

idk why you took the bottom off of the gun…there’s no need to.

andras888 says:

You are not supposed to remove the bottom of the gun for loading, and you
should be able to lock the piston with the long rod, then push it to remove
air bubbles through the loosened top bleed valve, or loosened top of the
gun, then turn to unlock the rod from piston, and push it in.

Jahan Zeb says:

Thanks Mr. Brains for subscription. Regards,

Tragic Hero says:

anyone ever use green grease? that stuff is awesome!!!! Sticky so it stays
where u put it and doesn’t drip

45von says:

You do Not need to remove the bottom of the gun… Just the top, also when
replacing the top leave it 1 or 2 turns loose and all the air will be
forced out when you re engage the spring loaded rod.

jasonsupafly says:

Thanks for the vid, Brian.

maXim0200 says:

Thanks mate! i have a simple theory question: After you have charged it
(put the canister in) and you let the spring off how dose the handle rod
slide in? dose it just go into the grease?

briansmobile1 says:

Illustration and beginner grace. You can loose a lot of grease fast if
you’re not mindful of that rod sticking out.

1970chevelle396 says:

I like to leave the top a little bit loose, then release the spring. That
way it gets the air out. Then you tighten the top down.

1HeartwoodSurgeon says:

Brian thanks for the great videos, I really appreciate and enjoy them. I
will try to leave another comment on the way I do it which might be a
little bit easier with a couple less steps. Only 500 characters to work
with so hang with me. I am a semi mechanic and we go through a lot of
grease so we change tubes a tone.

Vern in IL says:

It looks like a lincolin gun. NAPA maybe?

briansmobile1 says:

If harvest time for you is anything like it is in Idaho- time is cash
money! I wouldn’t take the bottom off either. For illustration reasons of
the video and to prevent mass grease exodus (especially for beginners who
would likely learn from this video) it’s a good idea to remove the base and
use this order of operations. Have you ever seen compressed air in the base
burp up a tube of grease or have the spring slip? Just imagine a baby calf
with diarrhea standing over your head. ; )

briansmobile1 says:

You bet Mr. Burtley!

D4x4Bronc says:

Dr is making sure you weren’t giving the wife a tune up in the garage.

briansmobile1 says:

The Coastal stuff is green and you can kind of see through it. It won’t mix
with water the way conventional greases do.

Tony Ramos says:

i love the hat

J Davidson says:

you dont have to remove the back end cap. only remove the head remove tube
insert new tube screw on head and then release the rod. no point in
removing the rod end.

steve Icky says:

I did have that type ONCE! it took a fly lol.. i use the kind with the
metal finger on the end of the rod… plus this gun has a bleeder button on
the top works great got it at nappa
