I loosened the screw on the right until fluid came out, it was so dirty I
didn’t see the sticker that says don’t adjust and now its not working. Did
you have to adjust the jack after you replaced the fluid?

I have the same issue with my floor jack, I found your video review very
helpful.
I will take a look and see if it’s repairable.
Thank you.

I have the 4 ton craftsman floor jack and it is leaking from the back
piston. Do you know if there is such a thing as a rebuild kit for this
particular jack? What do you recommend I do to go about trying to repair
this jack?

I didn’t use brake cleaner, but I cleaned everything with rags/paper
towels. I tried the hydraulic jack oil with stop leak and it still leaked.
I will tear it apart again and inspect the o ring.

bam6972 says:

yea must have damaged it. did you clean everything out with carb cleaner?
mine still has not leaked one drop. try to get some stop leak jack oil and
see if that helps.

bam6972 says:

i got the seals from my local hardware store called arones hardware and
another where I actually got them from was called Fastenal. only 30 cents
for the oring. and its still not leaking one drop. just checked it today…
just take it apart and take the oring to your hardware store and match one
up. that’s what it did…. GOOD LUCK

bam6972 says:

yea that’s what I would do. and check for hairline cracks

zbrooklyn says:

wow thanks for the vid where did you get the seals from and what was the
size of the o-rings you got for the jack

Stanward Oshiro says:

I have that exact same floor jack. I bought the actual seal kit from Shinn
Fu America. I installed it, and the jack leaked about a month later. I
think I may have damaged the o-ring upon installation.
