I apologize for the late response, for some reason I don’t always get a notification when there is comments on my videos. Sometimes your remote may require reprogramming, especially if it was one added to the vehicle but then again it does depend on the make or model. Have you also tried cleaning the buttons when it was apart also???
Here is a tutorial on how to reprogram the remote autoforum.classifieds1000.c o m/Ford-F250/keyless_entry_pad_reprogramming#chitika_close_button (remove spaces)

Thank you for useful video.
I don’t like the style of ford focus 2005. Is there any other style remote which is compatible with this car?
Thank you
@4DIYers:Well, I finally decided to try changing the battery on the fob and found your video. Thanks, it’s a good video. However, after changing the battery..it still didn’t work. The fob has 3 buttons- door lock, unlock, and alarm. The lock and unlock would not work, but the alarm button worked. It’s for a ’98 Mercury Mountaineer. I heard replacing the battery require reprogram’ng of the fob,but why would the alarm button work? Programming applies to lock/unlock only? Luckily, i have a 2nd fob.
Gud and Helpful… I Expect more from you…
