Brandon Dooley says:

I have the same problem. any way to fix it?

Eddie Garza says:

i have one and i fixed that problem ill tell you how right now, remove the
rorque screw, behind the door handle, the plastic pannel broke free from
the screw, put a washer big enough to cover the whole put the screw back in
and BAM!! problem solved…

Richard Scott says:

spainard316 just commented with a fix.

penguru21 says:

The fix listed works great!! It is obvious the door was designed for screws
but Ford cheaped out and cut corners.

Richard Scott says:

I haven’t tried to fix it yet. I will probably just let a ford dealer fix
it. The door is easy to take apart but I just don’t want to deal with it if
its not an easy fix.

Rachid Messari says:

Yep that what I exactly did and problem fixed thanks!

spainard316 says:

ok, it’s a terrible design, that’s the bottom line, but the fix I found to
work was removing the door panel and adding a screw into where there should
be a screw in the first place. If you take it off you’ll see what I mean,
but there is a molding injection point where that lower left corner comes
off. Use a drill to make a larger pilot hole at that point and put in the
appropriate screw.

Richard Scott says:

Thanks! I am so used to it now that I haven’t had a problem. But I do want
to fix it. I will try what you did this summer. Sounds like a super easy
fix.

spainard316 says:

I have the same problem on the same exact vehicle (but silver), Was the
Ford dealer able to fix it for you? If so, how much did it run? Thanks.
