6:16 "more relaxing ride"? How can that be when you have only one position to put your hands in? This is a novel fad and won't last.
You completely missed that steering yokes have been in racing cars for years..including fomula 1 and many other types of cars..it enables tighter accurate turning with less movement.
Steer by wire, so nefarious hackers can take control and run people off a cliff! Meanwhile, I steer my car with my left hand on top of the wheel 95+% of the time….☸
Not everything new is better.
I definitely do not like the yoke steering wheel and even more afraid of the variable turning radius based upon speed, a recipe for disaster. What will happen if you enter corner too quickly and the steering ratio is set for the way the driver is driving then suddenly has to slow down very quickly, what will the steering do? TBH I'm very happy with mechanical steering.
Dear carmakers: WE DON'T WANT IT.
I mean, if yoke steering wheels are good enough for Formula 1, why not in cars?
This will have some market to Gen X+, because of the influence of video games. There were a few arcade games back in the day that used a steering yoke, and serious gamers sometimes use a yoke controller for computer games like Flight Simulator.
