I believe either in this video or the one on replacing the Neon gauges I provide a vendor who will do just that. “How to Replace a Fuel or Water Gauge in a Lexus SC400/300” If not – I remember a company some years back that you could send your cluster to for repairs. It was about $300 back then. I’ll see if I can find it.
Check these: gaugeguys I just found a company on ebay that will do it all. Search for: lexus sc400 cluster Best of luck

Alex have you ever found a place to repair the tac and mph light bar on the gauges ? Mine work but they don’t light up everything else works. 1995 SC 400. Thanks for the help!

Jim Myers says:

Hey Alex I found a fix at the lexusowners forum. I fixed my wifes by taking the cover off of the motor and putting a small water bottle top with the center cut out for a washer. It moves the ring gear back out the the worm gear so it makes contact again. Took twenty minutes and a small water bottle cap fits right in the groove behind the gear. Use a little light grease to hold it in while you reassemble it.

i found out what it was. the person before me had bootlegged with the fuses under driver side panel, to a point fuses did not fit properly, and melted parts which i had a quick fix of soldering done to regain lights and power but still will need a new fuse box and wire harness which was damaged due to such stupidity of the prior owner….

Will this work on a 92′ sc300? My lights are completely dead and need them replaced asap. How much does an auto shop charge to change these lights? I

Alex, Sorry I no longer have the car. For the 17 years I owned it I never had any issues with it. Best of Luck. BTW- I regret every day that don’t have this car. It was my baby. I’m on the look out for a SC430 now.

Alex Quiroz says:

Can you please do a tutorial or video on how to replace the telescopic motor in the steering wheel? Mine is messed up and the steering wheel won’t move at all. I think mine might be dead or something but I need help with that. Please do a tutorial on it. Thank you.

The only place to find bulbs is through the dealer

D D Cummings says:

I have a 92 CS400–can you please tell me where I can find the bulbs. the whole dash is very dem and the fule gage light is out. can you tell me what I will need to fix these issues.

mintkendishin says:

wow this is a big help!

TheRoadcarreview says:

Thanks. I have spent a ton of time on it.

TheRoadcarreview says:

I don’t but there are good instructions on the Lexus Forum site. I added a cup holder and had to do it. It was strange how the thing came out. Look for the instructions it will save you a ton of hard aches

TheRoadcarreview says:

The lights on your radio are LED there may be companies that will replace them but sometimes it is easier just to replace the display unit. It about $200

TheRoadcarreview says:

Power is the issue

TheRoadcarreview says:

Sad to say I sold the car after 17 years owning it. It was the hardest days with a car I ever had. I started driving 500 miles a week and needed something that could get through snow. Now I fly everywhere so I’m starting to look for a 430. I’ve had the panels off and there was not a lot of room in there. The hardest part is getting the panels off and not damaging anything. Get you a good set of tools to help.

TheRoadcarreview says:

What year was the unit you purchased? I fine plastic zip ties work best to get any cables tucked away neatly.

TheRoadcarreview says:

One more thing. I was just looking on wooddash.com you will have to select an SC430 then they ask for a year. It then brings up an SC400.

TheRoadcarreview says:

Boy that was one of the very first things I did to the car. I just couldn’t keep the flat black clean. I think I did this back in 2000. look online for wooddash.com. The pieces are high gloss with high adhesion values. You have to be careful putting them on because you get one shot at it. I think they sell for under $200 but well worth the expense.

TheRoadcarreview says:

The needles are neon. The only way to fix them are to replace them. You can either change the gauges which are around $200 each, or there are companies that can replace the entire unit by refurbishing the entire display. It’s a cheaper route, but you will be without instruments for a few weeks. I have another video that shows how to replace the gauges. Take a look for it on my channel.

Michael Rowland says:

I am also changing the drivers side window regulator on my SC300 here in a couple of days. I’ll probably miss it, but I think others would find a video on that swap would be super helpful. Just a suggestion. THanks again!

Michael Rowland says:

Thanks Lee! My needle and gauge lights are going out on my 93 SC300 and I need to replace my lights. This is going to help a TON. Thank you for making the video!

I’d say there is something draining the power.

How to replace a radiator in a 1994 lexus sc400

Fr3shFitment says:

Is that a size 194 bulb that just wedges into the green clip?

TheRoadcarreview says:

Strange that they have all gone out. But it does sound like a failure of power to the cluster. First l at the fuses located on the right side of your engine compartment when you are standing in front of the car. Inside the cover it should show which fuse goes to what. See if that is damaged. If so replace. If not I’d pull the cluster and make sure all of the connections are good. That should be your first few steps.

trillaboycloud says:

I have a 1992 sc400 and all my lights went out in the cluster, also it took my 4th gear. Is there a fuse that can be replaced or does the whole cluster have to be replaced?

pdqfiero says:

I have a 1991 LS400 with 260,000 miles. I have a problem with both my speedometer and tachometer needle lighting. The speedometer needle lights up about 2/3 of the length and the tachometer lights about 1/4 of the way. However sometimes the tachometer needle lights up completely but doesn’t stay lit for more than a day. First off, do you know what the problem is and then do you know how I can fix it? Thanks,
