Have no noticed any oil still getting by the catch can?

Colon Luis says:

Did you connect it were the pcv valve is ? If I do this might not have to change the pcv valve.

Anil Patel says:

What size hoses did you use in MM are they 13mm ? To route to the intake manifold

dooms says:

Instructions unclear. Got dick stuck in fan shroud

James Varner says:

Keep an eye on that clear hose. I had a bad experience using it as a small section of coolant hose near my cylinder head and after about 2 weeks it burst on me.

Nice design. You should have a dedicated oil cooler on that car but I do have to ask, are you sure you know what a catch can is for exactly?

Every engine has oil blow-by. Race tuned engines have a lot of blow-by because the rings are as tight as a straight guy in a gay club. Rather than have the engine sucking up oil through the intake filter, they can't allow it to drop out of the car onto the road, they put a catch can in between. The catch cans are emptied after every run because if you let it fill up it will suck oil into the cylinder and kick a rod out through the side from hydraulic locking. Think how a spray can works. Same thing.

My point is that if you are having issues with excessive oil from the pcv then a catch can will contain the oil but it means you have major issues with the piston rings and compression should be lower than factory. Do not allow the catch can to fill up or its bye bye engine. They are dangerous if you don't maintain the car properly.

If you don't have pcv issues and just want an oil catch can because shits n giggles you're inadvertently doing harm to the engine because it needs that oil to keep the cylinder wall wet and the valve seats sealed. You'll scratch the living bejeezus out of the cylinder walls if they dry out because there won't be any lube above the rings because they have taken the cross hatching off the walls, which keeps the walls lubed..

Not having a go but people need to stress the damage they can do from using these things..
