600,000 Mile Lexus Restoration I Got REALLY Carried Away This Time! Part 4

600,000 Mile Lexus Restoration I Got REALLY Carried Away This Time! Part 4

I continue our mission of restoring our 600,000 mile Lexus LS430 to the pursuit of perfection that birthed this car and this time I REALLY Got carried away.

If you’ve missed the first parts of this series, find it in the link below
PART 1 https://youtu.be/CwGheKtGT8I
PART 2 https://youtu.be/KkeXCAgd7S4
PART 3 https://youtu.be/4YTpeTSA3Sg

We start by finishing the last thing that’s wrong with the suspension from the last episode which is the front upper control arms.

Then we were supposed to just install the radiator and install the heater valve but I couldn’t just let it go like that so we basically replaced everything rotating with the timing belt and the drive belt except the AC Compressor. Cleaned everything and got the car running again.

The brand new power steering system is bled and running as well!

George Dodson says:

My wife started laughing when you said pursuit of perfection. I just received all new exterior molding, Side mirror housings. I cracked the passenger side mirror parking it. A new center console skin, Cup holders, speakers, overhead map lights entire unit. New floor mats from Lexus. That doesn't even scratch the surface. I had a cabinet full of parts i hadn't installed and every few days another package would arrive. I have caught up. I've installed all of the interior parts. I am going to order lower driver and passenger seat skins. $504. I absolutely plan on keeping my LS for the duration. I have 2015 Acura RDX and planned on splitting up the mileage between the two. But the RDX just sits a lot. Because when given a choice I'm in the LS.

I don't have enough words in my vocabulary to express how good you are at your job/vocation.

I bought my 2006 LS 430 in Dec 2021 on E-bay. With 99 miles. 1 owner. I flew to Fort Lauderdale to pick it up. I have done thousands of dollars in maintenance. The only unexpected repair was the starter at 115k i am at 138k now and its everything i want in a car. O just drove it from New Orleans to Vernon Hills IL to visit my mom. She thought it was a brand new car.

Dee says:

I just washed my car yesterday morning. I have a 19 Corolla SE with 48,500 miles on it. For the first time i noticed a dried what looks like water leak from under the car. But it dried up white looking, should i be concerned?

oldschoolwarrior says:

You can tell a lot about a person’s character by the way they react to stressful situations. Every time you come across a challenging issue or something that would stress most people out, you handle it with a lot of grace. You have a great demeanor. That says a lot about your character.

FA HB says:

Waiting for the next one….. Thanks

Lenard Batac says:

What kind of silicone spray was that? 47:16

J says:

Man I would never buy a car like this. In fact you could not pay me to take this car. But everyone needs a hobby and this is how AMD relaxes.

Rhodey Plays Things With Strings says:

The timing belt part is particularly valuable to me cuz I'll be doing the belt on my GS430 in the future. Thank you.

Jason W says:

A good all-year tire that works awesome in the winter is the Continental DWS06. Perfect for a Lexus LS

Jam Ram says:

Lexus is Japanese for Mercedes. As always, excellent job with this vehicle as well as the video.

borneo60 says:

Might as wel do it all since you know you do it right 🙂

J MDO says:

Good day from the Philippines. I have a question for the Rav 4 hybrid. The dealer was asking me if I wanted to do dicarbonizing my milage is 18,000 kilometers. Is this something I should do? It's about 80 USD. They are charging me 300 usd for the 20,000 check up. If I do the decarbonizing it will hit 400 USD.

Yama Fanboy says:

I had chronic high blood pressure and watching this series cured me completely. Thank you.

Looks like your elbow loosened power steering cap

Ralph Bernard says:

With all of the care that you took getting this car in ship shape I think that you will have a wonderful trouble free time!

Thuy Quach says:

Don't we need to change the crank and cam seals ?

Humza Irfan says:

Awesome car and very detailed like your videos, but respectfully speaking I would have also replaced the front oil seal as well just in case being a 600,000mile car

Erre Gómez says:

Excelente. Gracias

Ikhan says:

Good work and content, a suggestion: You can use a go pro to cut in your POV when doing repairs.

Stout Lager says:

Awesome. I've done so many jobs with wrong tools, dodgy parts, wrong previous parts installed with different kinds of wrong tools etc, it's really nice to see everything done correctly for once.

steelio5 says:

With 600k on it, I’m surprised you didn’t rebuild the internal components. I’d be interested to see the story the borescope tells.

Sparklander says:

Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks with us viewers. I love watching the rejuvenation of your 600K mile Lexus.

Alain Lafond says:

Hello, I would like to know what you think of the 2017 Honda Accord Sport 2.4. Is it a reliable car that will be able to drive for a long time if it is well maintained? What are its weaknesses? Big thanks!

Mike DV says:

As always, good videos. Thanks

A1 Bokeh says:
