Changing the cylinder head gasket is easy enough to do if you approach the task take in a logical sequence. Plenty of technical information in this tutorial….

my messaging service has a glitch, please message me and I will give you a
link to the video with the manual number. ( links are not allowed in the

is the publication number.
Cheers. i got close to the mic this time!
Well I guess we could buy in some land rover logo stickers and plonk them
on the cheap boxes to make ourselves feel better? It’s terrible but those
that don’t know will probably never agree that such things are one and the
same. Ah well … Anyway … enough rambling … I want the second
excellent instalment of the head work … its almost making me want to
tackle my own head gaskets again … π
got it thanx
Looking forward to it chap π
hye there, what is the name of manual book you used for this vids? and
where can i get it online? im from Malaysia
LR0070 STATES THAT THE BOLTS CAN BE USED UP TO 5 TIMES. , this is the
manual that I am working from.
okay the edition is on another video we have on our channel
Difference is in the price. I have been told on good authority that most of
the aftermarket stuff is what the OEM manufacturers make anyway without the
brand logo. ( thinking of the Disco headlamps I brought. all the same
except the land rover logo in the glass. The oval was there though.)
great every video you make is better and better crystal clear
Anyway if you have been fitting for 22 years why are you watching this
video?
I’ve always wondered about the genuine and after market head gaskets … I
could never tell the difference either which forces you to a natural
conclusion …
YOU CANNOT RE-USE HEAD BOLTS ON THESE ENGINES. THE OFFICIAL ENGINE MANUAL
LRL0070, LRL0003, LRL0081 CLEARLY STATES REMOVE HEAD BOLTS AND DISCARD.
THEY ARE TORQUE TO YIELD “STRETCH” BOLTS, THESE SHOULD NEVER BE RE-USED.
The other major land rover workshop manual states they can be re-used up to
5 times, this is a mistake. The MAIN CAP bolts can be used up to 5 times,
NOT the head bolts. Re-use them at your peril, new bolts are very cheap,
don’t risk it. (22 years working on Land Rovers mechanic)
Lets see if i can get it uploaded quicker for you,…perhaps before the
middle of next week.
