►The Series 1 Land Rover Discovery has reached classic status, and because of that, its engine components are outdated compared to today. However, replacing your Land Rover’s ignition components, while a slightly different process, will have the same positive effects as it does on a modern vehicle. No matter the engine, the ignition system is critical to proper operation.
A failing spark plug or ignition coil hampers an engine’s ability to function properly. If either is damaged, the engine will run roughly, lack performance, and have significantly worse fuel mileage. Fortunately, an ignition coil, spark plug, and plug wire replacement is fairly straightforward on a Series 1 Discovery.

As an extra step, I always counter screw the new plugs by hand until I feel them "seat." Then I turn them clockwise by hand. This helps prevent cross-threading. Nice video!
