Ed – i used vice as it was there to make sure it went and and in straight,
but yes with out vice it can be done, bush mechanic style 🙂
Squeak can also come from the belt itself if it shows wear like cracks. If
you wet the belt with water when runing and the sound stops thats the prob.

you can replace the cir clip with a new one with the holes for pliers and
its much easier to get in.
