Did you ever get a very high estimate from your service shop? Do you think you can trust them?
Replacing the high pressure fuel pump on this LR3 was estimated to be a 4000€ repair with body off.
We show you how we got it fixed for 40€ and some good luck.
Enjoy the video.

Excellent work and video I love the way you keep so calm. Shame on the Land Rover dealership
Good job and lateral thinking!!
4000 Euros to repair a car worth 4000 Euro.. Mistake number one about 10 years ago owner should have stopped going to dealer to repair this Car..instead found a good mechanic that a friend recommends that is …well ..honest…and that right there will make the 4000 Euro Repair with OEM parts less than half. The High Pressure Pump here i US from a good place (Atlantic British OEM)
which is either $329 or $499 depending on tank, Hell of a good friend you got there I must say.
Great video. Thank you. I like the concealed winch. Do you know which brand he has?
excellent – I have a D1 and really enjoyed this
Another great video by you both. Sending you good health Christian & Vera. Looking forward to the next one.
Clever man, good job
Realy fantastic! Good job.
Hans van leersum.
4000?! that's the price of a used Disco 3.
Fantastic video once again
I was thinking, "I bet Dr. C cuts that filter open" and I was not wrong!
We really can't trust dealers. Nothing like knowing how to do it.
A hug from Portugal
Great video guys. 🙂 Good info for a lot of D3 owners out there.
If got the same fault, but my problem was realy the pump. It's important to know that i was a campaing to reamplace the pump in guarantee when there was new
Great video but we dont have diesel discos/LR3s/LR4s in North America. I'd love to get lower consumption and torque of a turbo diesel but on balance looks much more of a pain maintenance wise vs the 4.4 v8.
Brilliant job, keep up the good work, thank you! 🙂
9:59 Christian, how come you didn't pre-fill the fuel filter with Diesel fuel? Or did I miss it?
11:40 Ok, I see what you did.
Land rover service is notoriously bad where I live.
mahle is not used by landrover i would check its service to see if its genuine and kms too many cars with missing history just get one from ebay
Danke für diese Informationen 🙂 Gruß Stefan
i would be underneath with sandpaper and killrust then a decent paint
