I’ve got a stupid question. I see that you are putting the bearing shells in which are in 2 parts. What’s to stop them turning in the block. I don’t see anything holding them in place. Or do they get held when you bolt the other piece on to the block.

Dear Christian and Vera, I am repairing my 2.7 engine after a broken crankshaft. Because of engine block is in spec (bearings have not turned), i'm going to install Fai bearings following your advice. The question is what to do with the crankshaft, buy an original used one or a new aftermarket? Do you know any brand or manufacturer that generates you some confidence? I hope you are both well, and happy new year
How is anyone else – if needing to rebuild an 2,7l – getting Veras tooth brush?

I can see now why failures occur with these crankshafts. Four mains for eight cranks.
Hope you get a refund for the bearings that need inline boring, unless you intend to keep them for a future project?
Hope you checked the micrometer before measuring?
