How to Replace 2006 – 2009 Land Rover Range Rover Thermostat Fast

In this video I show you how easy it is to replace the thermostat in a 2006-2009 Land Rover Range Rover. In my case, it was stuck open in my 2007 Range Rover and causing a P0128 check engine light. The process is VERY similar for the LR3, LR4, and Range Rover Sport of similar age. Enjoy!

One more question: The 2 halves of my thermostat housing seem to be sealed with a fairly strong adhesive. What is the safest way to crack the 2 halves apart – how did you do it?

I'm getting a P0116 on my 06 4.2 SC and it's making the engine cooling fan work overtime like the thing is overheating so I'm guessing at thermostat is getting wonky. The part appears to be the same as in your 4.4, do you know if the replacement process is the same?

What size nut was tht to take off the cover over the thermostat?

Sin Wu says:

HI did you have to bleed the air bubbles out of the coolant system or just add coolant in the reservoir to let it work itself out?
