@MrJPelectronics Yeah I do don’t drop the screws cause you’ll never find
then again and also there are 2 types of wiring harness you can get one for
using a stock amp if you have one… and the other is if your going to use
the head unit to power the speakers. and I do love my head unit with the
ipod capability but the cord is a rip off 25 bucks look on ebay for one,
And also i have thought about it why not get a Double din head unit cause
now i have my gps and if i would have just spent the…

Alex Alberti says:

@MrJPelectronics Money on the double head unit then I wouldn’t have had to
buy a GPS cause most are built in a double head unit.and yes the double
would work and probably look allot cleaner and sound better more wattage if
you don’t use the Stock amp…I have alpine type R’s and a Alpine CDE-102
on clearence.and get what you prefer Pioneer or Alpine which ever you
prefer but if you can afford it get Double

Alex Alberti says:

Dude i promise its not when i bought mine the sales rep was like”you are
going to need some wire taps” so i tried it and fucked up my first light
that comes factory in the door. it is a small wire harness so i bought
another. I took out the t10 bulb and inserted the wires from the new shadow
lights into the terminals and placed the bulb in on top and talk about a
secure connection haha but it looks good may upload a video later on
tomorrow but i promise its easy

YungCaliber15 says:

Great tut man even though i already knew how to do it but it is nice to see
a fellow optima owner try and help the community. btw have you ever thought
of installing leds in the door panel, instrument cluster or the ghost
shadow lights under the door? i have some and wondered have you ever
considered trying that mod?

ExpertOfSound says:

Hey 😀 Nice video, I have a kia optima 2001, this helped! I have a question
for you: do you have any idea how to remove the 6x9s from the back ledge? I
can’t seem to figure out how to get the speaker grills off the ledge, it
almost seems like they aren’t removable and come off with the carpeting or
something… Thanks 😀

Alex Alberti says:

Nice I Idea ive actually taken mine apart so many times i no longer need a
flat head

chux chux says:

thanks for the vid man.

MrJPelectronics says:

Thanks for the video. My wife has a 2005 that looks exactly the same as
your car. Same Infinity system and dash panel. I am actually looking at the
same alpine head units for this project. Any thoughts on if a double din
deck would work? I was considering maybe doing an alpine monitor indash.

Johnathon W says:

dude that DOOR is a bitch to get off, some times the damn thing doesnt go
down rite, lol

darealBigBoiLooch says:

Thank you helped a lot

Alex Alberti says:

@iTraRozay Heck yeah man its worth it especially if you want that GPS
feature i wish i ahd the money at the time to do that

Alex Alberti says:

hell yeah man it’s like a 2 man job lol thanks for watching

Brandvegn says:

Instead of a flathead (Metal on plastic is a bad idea) go to the local
dollar store or Dollar General and get plastic paint mixers (there should
be three in a set). No harm to my console and I have done the remove 4
times so far.

theoandkahle says:

Hey, this helped me to get the front off of it, and to get to the wires,
but i have a jvc kd-s26, and there are way too many wires on the kia radio
than my jvc. If I just electrical tape the unused wires, will I be able to
still have sound? (There isn’t a specific wire for the amp, is the biggest
question I have about doing it.)

Alex Alberti says:

Well if you bought a new headunit you will need a wireing harness for you
make and model of your car you shouldn’t have an loose wires. and please
never tape unused wires together just tape off each individual wire.

iTraRozay says:

Than you 4 dis vid…I got da 06 n I couldn’t find any info on how to tak
da factory out..I wanna do a double din n dash..think it will work out?

Alex Alberti says:

I have though about adding lights to the door’s when you open the doors but
to much work for a lil mod unless their is an easier way to do that lol
probably not though
