whoa, how’d you get bob dylan to sing in one of your videos?

haha cool video

abiel rodriguez says:

my inner axle is not ”popping” in. Dont see any bearing or spline surface
problems….I think it may be the c-clip to wide opened, ill try removing
it and compressing it a little more to see what happens.

timr617 says:

This video is annoying

marvin freitas says:

How about the rear axle? Is it similar to this?

Sawyer Woitekaitis says:

u have a geo metro. i have a 92 toyota paseo looks like the same
suspension. do i need an alignment after i replace a front passenger side
bearing?

Myanmar Jazzmaker says:

you are good , dude !

jason Parson says:

Im replacing my halfshaft on my 91 mazda protege but the boot connected to
the end that goes into the transmission tore an only the end thats in the
transmission is left. How do i get it out?

seker7 says:

I’ve got a 93 Ford festiva (the equivalent of your Metro- (neither is
powered by a Ford or GM powerplant.. mine is powered by Mazda) …anywayz I
am needing to do mine — and this helped as seems ‘simpler’ than I expected
… I also NEED to replace the Ball joint at the same time (going with the
whole assembly as hoping be ‘easier’)
…at 248,000 miles the only repair’s to keep this thing on the road will
be things I can do myself (anything ‘big’ like clutch etc …umm its a
‘new’ used car

Love the commentary music and ‘art’

I love the way you did this video, very entertaining. Love the style

RichardCorral says:

Dude I can not get it to pop back in…. i did every thing else like you
said… need help! thanks

nhojnomadoc says:

this might sound like a stupid question but do I have to add grease to the
new cv shaft? I bought a new cv shaft assembly and the outer joint seem to
be quite firm, feels like its metal to metal contact inside the boot. dunno
if this is normal.
if it helps: 2002 acura rsx base

edward Matthews says:

Are you a host for a kiddies show dumbass.

TRY to HELP you says:

@TC3RACER well. I would invest in a deal of penetrating oil. Put the stuff
all over it and wait an hour or so. See what happens. Maybe that will
help.. Some people like to take an impact hammer to it. You may notice that
the tip of the CV chaft where the nut goes on has a machined pit on the tip
for one of those tools.. I have had great success with the oil beyond what
the words of the english language could describe ! 🙂 maybe ill make a
video on that stuff.. .Good luck!

Thank you, an informational video that isnt completely boring. I have to
remove these axles on my car and this helped out a lot.

Ryan Sax says:

About to do this on a 98 Integra, well, I’ll have to wait two days first,
Hopefully I’ll make it till then 😉

MegaGemoroy says:

I love your song and the way you narrate! Thank you for this video:D

Philip Beeton says:

no offense, but there are numerous times when removing a halfshaft to do
other things. One instance is when I have to replace wheel bearings, also
when I do clutch jobs. Both times the half shaft has to be removed or
separated from the hub in order to do other maintenance. If I replaced the
halfshaft every time I removed it, that would get very expensive. Also if
it was cheaper to replace the boots on the halfshafts like in a European
car than I would not to mess up the bearing

zleereed says:

thanks, bob dylan

412stickythumb says:

If you have the time to give some advice, hearing a loud popping noise
every time I would turn my wheel. I jacked it up, through some stands under
it. ( 99 Lincoln Nav 4 w/d by the way) when investigating the sounds , My
control arm was popping and making a medal on medal noise when the wheel
was turned and then, snap, my c/v axle broke. my ? is, was that popping
noise that symptoms of a bad c/v or is it possible I’m going to find
something else when I replace the c/v axle ( $65 at Auto Zone)

TRY to HELP you says:

@KLCII88 Great. Good luck. it will go well!

DaOneEnOnly says:

You’re gonna need an alignment after this since you disturbed the
suspension.

Anita Wissel says:

BIG TIP…on re-seating the new axle shaft, There is a little wire ring on
the new shaft near the spleened-end that holds it in, A lot of issues occur
with messing up this retaining ring. Coat it with some grease so that its
spaced uniformly around the shaft. It’ll seat perfectly and not get jammed
and hence messed up.

ADKmountains says:

I like you. Your funny & Informative.

wafrederick says:

I don’t torque down the axle nut, tighten using the German torque spec using
an impact. Will not do damage to the wheelbearing doing this. There are some
you take one axle out one side at a time. This is with Ford models with the
MTX and ATX transaxles sticking in a special tool.If this does happen, hear
a ker plunk noise called spider gears falling out.

Anti Law says:

Is this the same for the driver side? My 2002 dodge stratus. So there is a
clip inside that stays in place when the axle is pulled out? and then you
give it a tap with hammer to make sure it secures with the clip once
installed? Thank You!

circusboy90210 says:

haynes and chiltons manuels are not the same they are light years
difference. a haynes manual is almost next to having nothing.

Lindsey Welch says:

Holy crud!! Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking for, and
entertaining!- so you didn’t disconnect the knuckle anywhere else, just at
the control arm? If you had a sway bar, does that need to come loose too?

Houstonbby says:

i need to replace my cv joints on my dodge stratus when i looked at
autozone it says cv boots. really dnt know about fixing cars or what car
parts are called but are the cv jonits & cv boots two different parts? & if
different.. how do i know what really needs to be fix. i am taking my car
to a mechanic i dnt wanna be fucked over :

Robert Shields says:

For a good online repair manual, you can get a personal subscription to
ALLDATA. ALLDATA is a leading professional mechanics resource. They have
DIY (do it yourself) online subscriptions which are priced comparable to a
Chilton manual – I just bought a subscription for my ’91 Honda Accord for
$19.95. Don’t get me wrong, Chilton’s and the like are good manuals, but I
don’t like lugging around books.

Zore Zmith says:

rather spend $500 on tool than paying someone $500 per hour. that’s a rip
off.

camposx85 says:

Thank u sir… greatly appreciated!!!

ArbysOvenMitt says:

i have a 97 eclipse FWD i’m trying to do this on. but i can’t seem the get
the axle out of the car. i have it all disconnected from the wheel hub, but
i need it out of the car itself.

tremainebabegirl says:

Yo Bro Your video on CV shafts is on point. it really helped me for my next
automotive test. I really didnt have time to pratice this in class so this
helps me alot. Thanks!!!!!!

TRY to HELP you says:

@chaoscraig5v7o Maybe just a very little amount of play. It should not
really be noticeable. if its more than 1/16 of an inch you may have a
problem. A little play is normal however . good luck!
