Garages are probably afraid now of EV's catching fire. I had a 2500 HD 4×4 diesel. Using parking structure in AnnArbor was a chore. Maybe an inch of clearance on some of the beams..

@kenmohler4081 says:

Why no EVs in the parking garages?

@deathk26 says:

No EV's in parking garages because of battery fires. The sooner they get outlawed entirely the better.

Nothing but fun!

@rvmagnum5415 says:

EVs are junk, they can burst into flames at any given time.

I've never worked on differentials b4, wish you could have given some close ups. Love watching your videos, keep up the great work

@photondebuger45 says:

Oh, is a 3/4 too small for the lugs then?

@Peter-pv8xx says:

No EV's is perfectly understandable since they have a habit of committing suicide by self combusting, people have been killed by those e bikes and scooters parked inside buildings when the batteries spontaneously combust, you can imagine the insurance those garages have to pay just for conventional vehicles to be able to park.

@courier11sec says:

I have a cheapo 1/2"extension specifically for pounding sockets onto junk fasteners.

@jonsnell4751 says:

No EV's in the EU either because if they catch fire (and they do), it will cause extreme damage to other vehicles as you cannot extinguish a Lithium cell when it is burning.

@RC-Lifer says:

I bought a cheap Walmart tire wrench for reasons unrelated. Sloppy pos. But it fits all brands of swollen lug nuts! Win win for crappy manufacturing!

Music was a great touch!

@kenwalker4583 says:

They're worried about fires in the EV's. Thats why they will not allow parking of the EV's in the garages.

No EV’S because of battery fires

@robertbacklund4438 says:

You commented about your trip to NYC and related your difficulty in finding parking garages that would allow large pickups in. Then you also found it surprising that many also would not allow EV's either. When you get a chance, look up videos about car transport ships being destroyed and sometimes sunk by an EV's battery catching on fire. Most fire departments when responding to an EV fire no longer try to put it out, they only manage the fire from spreading and just let the battery fire to just burn itself out. I think these batteries burn so hot that if water is used to put it out the use of water feeds the fire and makes it even worse. The temperatures are so high that it causes water to break down into hydrogen and oxygen, this is what NASA uses as rocket fuel.

My nephew works 2 blocks away from the restaurant on E54th. Doubt he's ever been in it. Lives on E72st. 3 people sharing a place at 7200 a month. Nice view at least. His previous place was a dump on E34th. The "Window" looked at a brick wall. The "Sky Light" looked like it came from a travel trailer. That was 4200 a month. 4th floor no elevator and place was maybe 20 feet wide. But it's NYC!!!!!!!! Golf clap. He works for a assets management company with 800 billion being managed. What exactly is his choice? The 'burbs with a hour plus commute? The subway? He won't take one. Too dangerous. My sister asked "You ever going to visit him?" Nope. He's got a brother whose wife is from Long Island. They come within 3-4 miles where he lives when they visit her folks. They've never visited him because "NYC".

I mentioned the place he works in the comments section of a sub stack I subscribe to. There's one guy there that's into venture capitalism. In his 30s. He made it. Has Porsche family members as friends and knows one of the simulation drivers for the Mercedes Benz F1 team (good gig that can pay 7 figures). This guy said "Where he works will eat them up and spit them out. They will fire most and Then hire some more. I started out working 16 hours days for a couple of years to prove I belonged".

The nephew's GF lives in NYC (they both come from NE PA and got together there is HS). She's in the fashion industry. Last few months she flies to California on Sunday and flys back to NYC on Thursday nights.

I can't imagine living like that. Nor did I have ever have an itch to even try.

Watching a lot of your videos Eric it seems the rust belt over in the USA is much the same as here in Scotland. Nuts and bolts are always a crusty shadow of their former self.
