Watch as I remove a severely rusted out rear frame rail section and splice in a replacement I purchased. Welding while laying on your back sure gets interest…

About how many hour did it take to do this job? I have a 97 TJ and I found
a small rust spot and the a couple of the screw holes for my belly skid
have rusted out and I would like to do this before it gets bad. I actually
welded my skid to the frame for the time being. Im just wondering if I
would be able to do this in a day or 2.
rust :-(
Glad you caught that Cecil, pretty scary stuff. Nice fix.
Hey what’s the website where you got that section? i have a 96 and I need a
rear peice, just wondering if they had one for back their as well

Jeep should be held responsible for this crappy design
Yes they sure do, some faster than others but they all rust out eventually.
Thank you .
Thanks Reuben. It drives much better but I need to grease all the
suspension and steering joints now, Thanks for watching buddy.
Checking in on ya ..liked the ride part the best..yep the Mustang is gonna
be a piece of cake after all this distraction list gets cleared up .
Thank you.
Good catch on that… That’s a sigh of relief to get that taken care of…
It looked pretty good– sounds like you did a thorough job…
Amen on the “That’s one too many” comment.lol Thanks for watching my friend
Thanks for watching Matthew. 🙂
C00L
nice repair Cecil!
Thanks a lot. Do vehicles look like this up where you are? Thanks for
watching my friend. 🙂
Cecil it’s great to see you and your projects again. I’m sure this will
inspire folks to check their vechicles a little closer. It makes me wonder
how these frames are holding up in areas with more salt and snow. Excellent
repair sir!
Thanks for watching John. If everything will stay together for a while, the
work on the pony will continue shortly. 🙂
Thanks buddy. I now know what a joy they are to own.lol 😛
Thanks for the video!
Damn! I was thinking about buying a Jeep and plowing my driveway. Maybe I
should reconsider.
I totally agree Greg. I can’t believe they designed the frame without any
drain holes but had plenty on the sides to allow water and debris to
enter(BAD DESIGN). Thank you very much for watching buddy. 🙂
nice work Cecil ! Another jeep saved 🙂
Great to see you too my friend. I hope to be back on the pony as soon as
the funding allows. Thanks a lot for watching.
Thank you very much. It is great to see you working on your mustang.
Check the frame rails from front to back and inside and outside for rust
before you buy one. Thanks a lot for watching.
Good to see you again Cecil. I am happy to know you got some of our weather
before it gets really cold. The Jeep repair was nicely done, thanks for
sharing it with us. – When are you getting back to the Mustang?
Great to see you back
Thank you very much. It is great to see you working on your mustang.
There was just enough to weld the new section too. Thanks a lot for
watching my friend.
PLEASE do. I had no idea mine were that bad until I started hearing the
rear axle moving side to side. Check them well and be safe my friend.
good to see a vid good stuff
It is great to be making vids again. I hope to continue on the mustang soon.
Looks like a great repair from where I’m sitting. Too bad the jeep
designers didn’t go to architecture school. We are taught to take care of
the water and get it away from our buildings. They could learn something
there… Your’s should be good for another couple decades now.
Good to see you Cecil……you were lucky you picked up on that before
winter, that wouldn’t be a nice job in the snow!
Holly smokes Cecil…That’s really bad…May be it was worse on the right
side because it’s the gutter side..You did a great repair mate…I knew
there was a reason why I’m not a fan of Jeeps…We have a commercial for
them here..It says “There’s only one Jeep”..I say “that’s one too
many”…lol..Great to see you bro.
Nice work Cecil
Great to see a video from you Cecil…. nice job on the frame rail.
that was bad i cant believe you rode around like that
Yeah,me either. I am very lucky to have found it before something bad
happened. Thanks for watching buddy.
Thank you very much. It is great to see you working on your mustang.
Good to see ya Cecil. Holy smokes that frame looked scary! Glad to see you
caught it in time. Your sure right that could of been bad. Hope to see some
vids on the mustang soon.
I think I’d better take a look at the frame on my 97 TJ. Thanks for the
video.
Thanks buddy. 🙂
Thank you and thanks for watching. 🙂
