Zack, So far so good on the water pump; it’s still going strong. John
Thanks for your comments. Glad you were successful. John
John, I just need to say “Thank you” for posting such a thorough and
detailed set of videos for this job. I was able to get this job done in 2
hours and that included the run to the auto parts store. great help and
very much appreciated!!! Thanks again! – Mike
Mike, Thanks for the follow up and for your comments. Good to hear about
your success. John
Great videos….Just finished intalling the new water pump and your videos
help greatly. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching my videos. While my jeep did not have electric fans, I
do think you will need to take the fan shroud off if you have the electric
fan version. Good luck…It really is not a difficult job at all. Just take
your time and you’ll do fine.
you are very handy, how about some maching action, reloading and
woodworking?? have we seen the other parts of this already?
Thank you for these videos. I am a single mama and got tired of shelling
out money that needed to go else where. The cost of parts are so
inexpensive and I actually thought it was fun.
Ellie, Thanks for your comments. I am happy to hear of your success. John
Thanks for watching, the fan on my Jeep came out with no difficulty.
However I did not have an electric fan as some models do. If yours is
electric, you will have to take the fan shroud off first. then the fan
blade itself. Hope this helps. John
THANK YOU JOHN YOU ARE AWESOME! You saved me alot of stress in doing this
job, God Bless you!
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH I WILL SUBSCRIBE JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE NICE ENOUPH TO

Hey John I followed you vids and last Monday I replaced my 06 liberty water
pump, the thermostat, the upper and lower radiator hoses everything went
perfect, Thank you very much for your videos I saved $ God bless you.
Daniel, Thanks for the feedback. Glad you were successful! All the best,
John
Have not installed the new one yet. It is due to arrive tomorrow, I just
got a head start on the project tonight. Looks a little tricky getting the
new pump in without bumping the impeller, but I think I can get it in there
safely. take care. and thanks again. Tim
Great stuff, I just changed (the oil and) the water pump in about 1.5
hours. Would NEVER have taken on the job without your video. It’s saved me
$ and the hassle of being without a truck for day….. Can’t thank you
enough.
How do you remove the radiator? Thank you
@la70 Thanks for the comments. Glad you were able to complete the job
successfully! All the best, –John–
Thanks much for the lesson! All went well!
Just wanted to say thank you for the video, I was able to not only impress
myself by replacing my water pump but my husband as well! I found it to
very informative and a job that could be done by anyone, especially if I
did it! Thanks again!
Thanks for the feedback; I’m glad you were able to get some ideas to use.
John
Excellent Step-By-Step Video! Removed worn water pump in 15 minutes. I
appreciate your ‘down to earth’ description and clear instructions, and
humor. Thanks again, and keep posting!
hey can you make a video showing how you take the fan out, so i can replace
my water pump or maybe my alternator the car won’t start
Hey John. ponyxpressdrummr here. Replacing my water pump on my 2002 Jeep
Liberty is complete. Replacing a water pump can be fairly simple depending
on the vehicle. Your video helped out and I did just go ahead and remove
the negative battery cable from the negative battery terminal anyway. Thanx
again for the video. I see what you mean when you said the “how to” video
for water pump replacement is nowhere on the internet.
great video, i ll follow this to help me on my project. My question is, do
I need to remove my fan and shroud (my electric fan is up against the
radiator). to remove the water pump?
John thanks for the video “how to change a water pump on a jeep liberty”. I
watched it twice and once I got started it took me 45 mins. I felt like I
did the job before after your detailed instructions. Thanks again. George
@toaster280 Thanks for the feedback. Happy that all went well. –John–
Hey John. I’ve got to replace the water pump on my 2002 Jeep Liberty. In
years past doing this on other vehicles required removing the negative
battery cable from the negative battery terminal. Is this not required to
change out the water pump on the Jeep Liberty?
@psychodelicdragon — Thanks for watching. I hope to get back to the
machine shop and reloading videos as soon as this MS weather cools off! You
are correct, these videos were posted earlier in the week, however there
was an error and I had to upload them again. All the best, —John—
Tim, Thanks for your comments and kind words. Glad you had success changing
your water pump. John
Thanks for your email. I don’t know of a tool that would work other than
the spanner. Perhaps a parts store you may have one to rent?? John
Thank you for this info
Thanks for sending you comments. Glad you had success. All the best, John
John I see that on your jeep you don’t have a fan clutch which is attached
to the pump pulley as I do on my ’05. The problem I ran into right after I
drained the coolant is that when I use the fan clutch wrench to turn the
nut that connects the water pump pulley to the fan is that the pulley turns
with the nut…I know there’s a spanner wrench out there but autozone etc
don’t have any to rent….is there anything you can think of to solve this
frustrating problem?
Thanks for the video you saved me countless worries and R&R took 1hr start
to finish on my 04. At first glance it looked like a old school type with
every bracket attached but thanks to your vid it took the guessing out of
the picture. Thanks alot.
Hi John – Just curious, its been a while since you’ve uploaded this
video… how’s the new water pump performing, given that it wasn’t an OEM
part. I need to replace water pump on my 03 3.7l liberty, this helps a lot.
@cpn1gdo Thanks for the feedback…glad your job went well. John
John, Thanks very much for a great, informative video! My son and I just
finished changing out the water pump on his 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I am
pretty handy but I don’t think I would have tackled this project without
your video. Took us 3 hours start to finish. Awesome!
Thanks for the video, i wish i would have seen your video a couple of days
ago., but overall thanks for the info
Carrie, Thanks for the feedback. Congratulations on a job well done. John
need some help to replace the water pump i have a 1996 jeep cherooke
country v6. thanks
Ross, Thanks for taking time to send your comments and congratulation on a
successful job. John
Thanks, John! my water pump just broke. Leaked the entire water and pulley
belt snapped. At least I got home. Jeeps are awesome!
This info worked out perfectly for me,other than a couple of busted nuckles
(cheap socket) everything went exactly as you showed. Saved a bundle, about
75 bucks from AutoZone. Great video La70
Thanks for your comment. Glad you were able to save some money! Take care,
John
