I just picked up a 94′ with 140k miles on it, seems pretty solid compared
to other (much newer) cars I’ve purchased in the past. Only problem it has
is a grinding noise when I apply the breaks and turn the wheel sharp going
at a slower speed. But I’m about to give it a much needed oil change so
this helped a lot, I’m sure the two years are not that different.
how do you know if you need to change the oil pump? my jeep has a really
bad tick, and a knock..and I wonder if it is just because it is not getting
the oil through to the right places? my pressure seems to read just fine,
but I am not really sure what is to High?
I’m gonna go try this on my 2000 Jeep right now, I hope it look just like
yours under the hood and under the car or I’m gonna be lost lol. Thank you
kindly – Marbie
my wife caught me watching this video and said HELL NO you are not changing
the oil to my jeep lol! oh well beats working on the car when its 104
degrees in texas
good stuff on oil change, make sure when you check oil level car or truck
on level groud, and let vehical sit for 15 min . after you run engine befor
you check dip stick,so that all oil has drained down to iol pan for correct
read
Another point to mention is when you remove the oil filter make sure the
old gasket stays with the filter. Sometimes while removing them, it (the
gasket) stays on the engine and then there are two gaskets between the
filter and the filter mounting location which will last for a little while
then POP! followed by no oil pressure.
@CBAcoltkid awesome, yea, I’ve heard similar stories as far as the body
structure goes. I havent run into anything with mine -I have a 2000
cherokee- but it runs great and still has lots of getty up even though im
approaching 140,000 miles. My college professor has 95 cherokee with
267,000 miles on it! same engine. same transmission. honeslty, even when I
graduate and start making money im still going to drive the thing until the
wheels fall off. Long live the cherokee.
so my friends 98 Cherokee says it needs oil, the dipstick says it needs oil
but she said that when she opens the oil filler cap the oil is to the brim,
she adds oil it just spills off the sides. ive never heard or seen anything
like this. do you have any idea why it would be like that? ive never seen
oil up to the brim before…..
what if your oil filter is tight as all fuck?
thanks this video helped me out I have a 96 jeep cherokee and its exactly
the same
notice you have a Pit shirt on. surfs up man…from kill devil hills

Do you know if this process is the same for a 94?
Jeep Cherokee = Chuck Norris. Fucking bulletproof.
great job! i love my Jeep Cherokee 🙂 You should do a tune-up video too.
now you should make a video on how to clean your jeep engine. lol
this is great teaching bro thanks now I know what to do and do it correctly.

If you have the six cylinder engine, yup.

Thank a bunch, guy! Most mechanics charge an unnecessary amount anyways.
Jeeps are awesome. AWESOME video. Also, is that an Oakley watch? Thanks for
posting!
