Thanks for the video. Do you think a Harbor Freight u-joint/ball joint
press is worth using for this? Last time I used your method my bearings
shifted and were shattered when I hammered it in place.

fucking nice video

usmcdoc14 says:

yes, it is worth it because when it comes time to do your ball joints you
will already own one. And if you look at my other videos you can see how
easy it is to change ball joints on a JK with that inexpensive press and a
chunk of pipe. This is a “field” technique but when you get good at it you
end up changing Ujoints this way all the time.

usmcdoc14 says:

As with the bearings shifting: it is a good idea to put in a glob of grease
and smear the roller bearings to the inside wall of the cap to prevent them
from falling over and getting caught between the cap and the joint. That is
even a common mistake to happen when using a press as well.

The only thing I would do different is find a rock to work on top of
instead of that fine gravel I would be afraid to get that grit into a
u-joint.

To the dude who asked if I am a member at jeepforum or project JK and then
deleted his question: Hell no LOL. I was banned from jkforum quite a while
ago when they were reading my private messages (yes, they do that) when
answering a question about a product on my JK that was from someone who
does not PAY to jkforum (you do know that you can not talk about any
company that is not pre approved and bribing the owner, right?) That site
is a blight on the internet.
