JerryRigEverything says:

No, the stabilizer doesn’t have anything to do with alignment. You’ll be just fine not aligning it again.

David Oswald says:

did you have to align the jeep after installing that steering stabilizer? I am rebuilding a 96 grand cherokee and currently have it in the shop replacing my rear axle but I plan on replacing the front steering stabilizer too just at a later time just wondering if I have to take it back to get aligned again because I getting aligned with current job on truck.

JerryRigEverything says:

Ya man, its really hard to tell without being there. But on my rig i didnt have to remove the tie rod to get the steering stabilizer off. It is a doozie though. I tried a torch, PB blaster… force… Nothing worked except the pitman arm puller and even that almost broke. Those things are stuck tight.

Jeff Turro says:

Great video, I like the part when it came out. I am trying to replace one on a 89 Jeep Wrangler. I’m borrowing a pitman form the auto parts store but can’t get it on due to a (tie rod?) being in the way. Will I need to remove that first? Any way around that? Is the shaft that was stuck tapered, can it be push it through from the other side if I can cut the bolt? …time to bring it somewhere before I F it up and need it towed!

mentholman38 says:

any parts store should have it. i dont know where you live but pep boys, advance auto, auto zone, car quest,… etc.. thats what is near me anyways.

Lucien Manson says:

Where can I find a tip puller? Thanks in advance for your time.

Joseph M says:

blaster works better than wd40, but if its *really* stuck, try half ATF4. half acetone. It’ll eat many plastics, however and you *dont* want it on your skin in in your eyes, for sure. I’ve broken free some bolts with that which would have otherwise nearly certaily snapped off

JerryRigEverything says:

I wish. I am on the other side of the USA brotha.

lee da man says:

a u got a number i need work done to my 1999 jeep ok im in york city

cannonball666 says:

Exactly what I thought when he moved it.

rodeo o says:

1:49 lol the fkn lol, going bad? that sht is not suppose to move freely like that, lolllllll

Glutton says:

Lol the fact that you can move your stabilizer like that shows its fucked!

Victor Hasitns says:

My jeep was like that for a few months it would only happen if I hit anything over 50mph but I took it to the shop and they fixed it for $300 bucks

JerryRigEverything says:

Puller helps out a ton. Its surprising at how stuck these things get. And how frustrated you get when they are stuck.

Wayne Strickland says:

Thanks bro…nice vid. i am doing mine right now and I am stuck – I might need the puller….should fixer right up once i hit the auto parts store tomorrow

cjhawk67 says:

I’ve been running no steering stabilizer for 5 years and just now started having death wobble from bad balljoints

JerryRigEverything says:

Glad i could help! The puller is a fantastic invention.

PROSNEST says:

Thanks for the vid man that tip puller is genius a couple turns later success. New puller $15 this vid priceless.

JerryRigEverything says:

If your steering stabilizer is shot, or leaking, then it can cause the wobble. But you are correct, usually bushings, tie rods, track bar, those are the major culprits.

sportbikeandhunter says:

Upgrading your steering stabilizer doesn’t fix death wobble at all.. It just masks the problem. Death wobble comes from worn bushings and bad tie rods.

Michael Klumper says:

The bolt you couldn’t get off is tapered, like most of the other bolts on your steering. An old trick is to spray it with penetrating oil, then take two hammers and hit it on either side at the exact same time. It usually takes a couple tries. Because the bolt is tapered, the quick pressure on both sides at the same time will force the bolt to actually pop out. An old guy taught me, and once I learned it I was pissed about all the time I wasted on things like tie rods in the past.

JerryRigEverything says:

Good luck man! I hope it works. Death wobble is a frustrating thing.

ihfan29 says:

my ford does this every oncein a while real bad…replaced the c bushings…came back now I’m doing the track bar bushings.

JerryRigEverything says:

I’m glad you figured it out. Diagnosing the cause of the wobble really is the hardest part.

allen scott says:

yea i have a 1998 grand cherokee laredo 4.0L i would be driving down the road hit a small bump or make a turn and it would wobble as if the front tire would collapse from under the jeep it is a scary ride when it happens so i got under the jeep and was looking at the stabilizer bar didnt see any leaking from it but took notice that it didnt have compression in the cylinder which is allowing it to move, anywhere’s from 1/4 in to 3/8 and then i realized that is where my wobble is coming from

Samantha Plett says:

I have death wobble currently and have done a TON of research into the cause.
Everything I have read makes it pretty clear that a new steering stabilizer only hides the real problem. Chances are in another year or less you’ll have to be replacing it again.
Unless your steering stabilizer was leaking and was actually the problem.

JerryRigEverything says:

There is a stearing gear that could get loose. Its attached to the frame in the front of the Jeep on the drivers side. I would guess its that. Check w/ your local shop first though, because the gear unit is like 200 bucks on amazon. You dont want to spend that without being sure.

sterkhart says:

I don’t have a wobble but, I do have considerable play in my steering wheel before my wheels react. What do you think could be the cause?

sk8ingonfire says:

tid mountain puller 2:05 whatd u call that thing?

Chandler W says:

the steering stabilizer isn’t the problem, its just a quick fix cover-up if you will. tighten/replace that track bar and check your ball joints

Justin Hoffert says:

They never say this because they wanted you to continue spending ur money… Alot of mechanics do this…

JerryRigEverything says:

Thats what i like to hear! Good job. Mine was super stuck as well, but finally hearing it pop off is super satisfying.

Andrew Pobirs says:

This was very helpful. I just about gave up on replacing the stabilizer myself. When I gave the final turn on the universal gear puller and the loud POP happen, I wanted to High Five Myself!
I saved about $90.00 of having to pay a shop to do this simple but PIA removal/install.

Mike artel says:

That pb blaster is amazing. Thing cracks bolts and nuts like nothing. F wd40 lol

Audrey Baca says:

Thank you SOOOO much, I just replaced the track bar and alas still the wobble. I see hydrolic fluid soaking the steering stabilizer, so that must be the culprit! I am just wondering why the 4 mechanics I brought it to never saw this. Anyhow, thank you for the how to!!!

JerryRigEverything says:

Sorry about the late reply, but yes, I replaced the track bar and the stabilizer, and the problem hasn’t come back.

JerryRigEverything says:

Thanks!

Omar Amezcua says:

good video dude

Tim Bright says:
