Removing Side Mirror (2012 Jaguar XF)

Removing Side Mirror (2012 Jaguar XF)

Removing Side Mirror Cover (2012 Jaguar XF)

In this video I’m giving you step by step instructions on how to remove the side view mirror on a 2012 Jaguar XF series. These are very simple instructions that’ll help you to be successful with repairs or replacements to your side view mirrors. Hopefully this will help those who want to learn more about their vehicle and assist them on a diy project. Thanks for checking out the video and I hope to see you on the next one, BOW

I wanna give a special thanks to those who’ve subscribed and shown support, I also would like to thank YouTube for allowing me to share my dream.

The side mirror replacement was purchased from a local junkyard but can be found on either the Jaguar website, eBay or Amazon.

Just did the same exercise. Followed your clear instructions. Fitting the door inner back was tricky until I removed the window strip and clips . I fitted the clips onto the door itself and then it was easy to clip the top of the door inner onto the clips and finally push down the window strip. Great stuff. Shame that with my second hand mirror unit still would not fold on locking but the mirror itself was moveable

Explain very well..thank you!

Brilliant video, I have what seems to be a lazy door mirror, always moved slower than the other side, but now struggles to open fully. I think they are pretty buch sealed with no service parts inside. Biggest issue will be getting the back cover off to have a look inside and general clean up, hope that the lazy movement might be down to a poor connection reducing the power to the door mirror (I can hope…) Mine are the top end version with puddle light and blind spot detection so the connector is what they call a 13 wire type and some stupid high prices for them even the damaged ones.
Thanks for the clear tips in your video, really helpful.

Thank you SO much for this post. I lost the mirror in Downtown Boston on my wife's F-Pace. I knew about removing the inside door panel but didnt know how to easily remove the window trim. This was perfect.

Thank you.

Gotta question. I have a 2009 xf with the previous mirror light setup. Is it possible to upgrade the lights to this 2012 led on without replacing the whole unit? May need to match mirror covers?

Zorac Dev says:

If non auto folding electric door mirrors is it possible to manually fold them in, mine seem really tight as if they do not?

Anthony Vening says:

Thank you for a really clear and well shot description of door panel and mirror removal, it will go into the 'How To' folder on my XF . I live in the UK, which is a right hand drive market and I see that your car is RHD also.
