Thanks for the how to vid, I watch it and a bunch of others in preparation of doing the Y pipe, top pipe and water pump on my 2013 XKR. It had the original parts on it, the old style pipes formed from 2 sections laminated together that have a 'flange' around the outside diameter, shite design, WTF Jag? Why didn't you use the aluminium ones as used on the 5.0 l supercharged Range Rovers?
Well, I was all prepared to take the supercharged off the thought about it…the new one piece Y pipe is a lot slimmer and shorter on the top section by about 2 inches. It may fit without taking the blower off…lets check this out.
So, for a start the water pump is off and the throttle body is off to, nothing difficult there. Bonnet/hood is in place with left side gas strut removed for ease of access.
Using a few 1/4 drive extensions, a uni joint and torx bit, removed the retaining screws and out with a magnet stick, pretty easy that part. Using a small oscillating power saw I cut the left side of the Y off just above the outlet that fits to the block. To easy, almost fell out in two bits-vacuumed up the crap, cleaned the apertures in the block, all set.
Now the $64 question….will this new Y piece go in? Sure does, feed the top end of the Y piece in first in its correct orientation on about a 30 deg angle, just slides right in. Jumping for joy at that point!!
Torx screws back in with magnet stick, tightened up surprisingly easily with narrow but good access both sides.
I made a video as I went and when I finish the job tomorrow, I will finish the video then edit it and upload to YT.
I hope that will save a lot of poor mugs a lot of unnecessary supercharged removal and replacement.

To remove the supercharger you should only need a pry bar. Using a engine hoist is silly

Bill Fender says:

Which labor guide do you use?, I have Mitchell and it doesn't list the coolant pipe but does list the Oil Cooler, labor time is 4.8 hours, where does it show 10 hours for the tube?

shuura says:

This was helpful, but I wish the camera was closer to show the disassemble more clearly! I may be doing this in the Spring for my F-Type R, as I smell coolant, but can find no leaks. I'm also keeping an eye on the coolant levels!

Now I understand why my buddy used the hoist . If it has been removed already will it be harder next time or should be easier now ? I might need to go back in to replace those y pipe lol

I've got code p026a. I assume the charge air cooler pump? I was thinking of doing it myself. Anything I should lookout for?

Xavier Willis says:

What’s the torque specs on the supercharger

Classic Mikel says:

So I have a feeling I have the same problem on my 2017 Jaguar f pace. And it’s leaking bad. How did you guys know it was that?

Blue Line Garage says:

Looking good guys. Hope you subscribe as well
