In this video we are going to show you how to replace the ECU Engine Computer on Jaguar or Ford Vehicles without the need to program the ECU Computer. We demonstrated on a 2004 Jaguar X-Type 3.0. We took the computer, the cluster, the GEM Module and the key so you can get the immobilizer out of the key. We took the parts out of a 2003 Donor Vehicle.
It will be the same procedure for the whole generation Jaguar X-Type from 2001 to 2009.
Make sure that you do not install the battery and replace the immobilizer chip before you replace all the components that we showed in the video. Unfortunately the miles of the donor vehicle will be displayed in the cluster.
We have done this procedure on Ford Escape First Generation as well.
This procedure should work on:
2001 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2002 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2003 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2004 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2005 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2006 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2007 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2008 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it
2009 Jaguar X-TYPE ECU Computer Replacement and Install without Programming it

Viktor Paczona says:

Hello! I would like to replace my ECU, however, I am not sure about the importance of the serial (?) numbers written on the ECU box itself. Mine says X404 2.5L NA, then comes "CB" made up of small c and b letters. I could find a second hand ECU on ebay with all the additional things required, however, this says "CA" instead of "CB" at the and. Does this count? I can send you a picture if my description wasn't clear. Thank you for your answer in advance!

Lorraine Burke says:

How did you find the parts all from the same car? Everyone is telling me that I have to go get it reprogrammed at the dealership. The dealership is over 3 hours away from me and my vehicle is not starting due to the error. I was wondering if you know where to find a set for a 2004 X Type 3.0 with the part number:
4X43-15K600-CC on my security module?

Paul Simpson says:

Can you do this swop for the diesel also , then do you have to code the injectors to the ecu after..
