When Ford took over Jaguar, quality vastly improved. I'm not saying it reached the quality of Honda or Toyota, but it was leaps and bounds better than the Dark Days of Lucas.

Jaguar improved in reliability pretty dramatically under Ford. The X-Type is a Ford Mondeo. That said, a 2003 with 155,000 miles isn't suitable as a daily driver. People who mindlessly bash Jaguars (a) haven't worked on a Jaguar and (b) haven't followed the company and their vehicles since the 1990s. Quite a bit has changed.
Dude WTF that was my first car! I loved it! But yeah, it was kind of a lemon to put it lightly.
