Eileen Beaudine says:

The hinge on my Jenn-Air model JDS9860ACB does not come away with the door
as shown in this video. There is no movable tab that allows you to remove
the door with the hinge attached. The hinge stays with the oven when you
remove the door and is held to the door frame with two screws. . The spring
broke on one of the hinges, and it is necessary to replace the whole
hinge–part #74011142. Because the spring was broken I was able to
extricate the old hinge, but I’m unable to install the new one. It has to
be inserted from behind the door frame, and there doesn’t seem to be enough
clearance to get the hinge positioned. Am I doing something wrong?

Lauren Fleming says:

Do you have a similar video for Frigidaire electric models? Or would
everything be the same for hinge replacement as this one?

Hi Appliance Pros, How do i replace the hinges for a model
# Maytag MER5875RAS? Im having a heck of time figuring it out.

Tippi Mathison says:

Thanks again AppliancePartsPros! This time, the kids and I fixed the hinge
on the oven door! $45 in parts, 1/2 hour of labor. I think I should take
us out to dinner for what we just saved in a service call!

This video was very helpful! Thank-You!

Vicki Smith says:

My Jenn-Air oven does not have swivel hinges. I was hoping your video
addressed that; however, it only showed the easy style of removing the
door. If you have information on how to remove the door in ovens without
the swivel hinges, I would greatly appreciate it.

good video, thank you

Lisa Mace says:

Very helpful Got hinges replaced and door back on but hinges seem to be
very tight and door will not stay open all the way without my knee holding
it back. Do these hinges relax overtime?

oeshoe says:

Thank you for providing such detailed information. I only wish that the
camera angle could have been positioned a little bit far away from the
action. It is difficult to see what screws at what parts of the door were
being worked on. The orientation of the door is not clear, and which part
of the door the camera is on is confusing too. Nevertheless, this video
provides much needed instructions. Thank you very much.
