Ron Kohe-Love says:

HELP!!! I have to replace a CV shaft or half shaft on an 02 Impala plz
message me with any advice. PLZ!

Harry G says:

An instructional video without the bullshit. Good stuff

Frederick Rassmann says:

Damn! He made that look easy! A boot kit is $30.00 Band Pliers are $20.00 =
$50.00+tax A Brand New Complete CV-Joint $55.00+tax Plus LifeTime Warrenty.
I’m going with the Brand New CV-Joint Then Buy the boot kit & pliers I’ll
install the new one then rebuild the old one and keep it as a spare. What
would you do? I don’t have a lot of time I need my vehicle every day >)>)>)
By The Way! Outstanding Video!!! Thank You for sharing the Info Mate!

Calcutta151 says:

@MissAmySarah, the autoshop is charging that amount due to the labor
involved removing the cv axle half shaft from the vehicle. The man in vid
makes quick work with the axle already on the bench because he is very good
at what he does. I would suggest you smile sweetly at your mechanic and he
should give you a fair price. Other wise have a buddy help you pull the
axle(s) from your subee and at that point, replace the boot. Its a greasy
job tho ! 🙂

Nero Scott says:

Little grease!… But, man of fast work

Blain taylor says:

it’s cheaper to buy the whole shaft

metricmine says:

Love the no nonsense video! Does not waste time with long boring talk and
does the job fast. Saved me a lot of money. Thought I had to replace the
whole axle, according to the other advice I was getting. I also though it
would have been an extremely complex task that requires special tools and a
lot of work, meaning high labour cost. This part was simple. The hardest
part was really getting the axle out from the vehicle. Was able to do this
myself and save cost on parts and labour. Thanks a lot!

my cv joint has been broken for years… its been clicking like hell and iv
just decided to ride it untill it locks up on me and kills me :). lol jk
… well… not really >_>… ill get it fixed some time… lol

Fludy676 says:

Brilliant job. Brilliant video. Top marks to all involved. I bent the shaft
on my cv joint a while ago. Didn no it was possible but its causin my
spindle to wobble along with the disk causin a very annoyin churp in the
brakes even when i wasn applyin pressure to the brake peddle. Its a bigger
job gettin to the cv joint than it is to replace it after followin your
advice. Im only 23 so advice like that will stay with me forever. Crued but
effective. Glad you could help. Thanks oldfella.

380Banshee says:

Mechanics Freak out about these CV JOINT Jobs. One mechanic wanted me to
buy the complete axle already assembled. Its tough to find reliable people
like you tube. That vid was awesome. Toyota parts are INSANELY HIGH COST.
MY outer joint started clicking. This is the 4th time IVE tried to put a
universal joint on it. Once the joint gets greased, clicking goes away. I
dont know why everyone says replacing the whole joint just cuz of clickig?
I would rather rebuild the old axle any day.

bhstone1 says:

I love how you Australian people talk. It’s so cute!

blackphosphor says:

great effin video. i have to do this to my car tomorrow!

drew hood says:

If it is the crank seal then no way is it an engine rebuild, take of the
harmonic balencer pulley the timing belt and then the crank sproket then
take the seal out with a screwdriver covered in tape, the rear main seal
you have to drop the trans. Those cars are the biggest hunks of crap ive
ever seem the cops are always breaking down and having to go back to the
crown vics that are in storage here.

ninja05ful says:

clasiama says:

those that are not in the know about mechanicals.I have booked my car in to

given a pricing of about $150-$200 get the boots and the joints fixed..You
made it look so easy.I found your information really helpful…

fuq yeuh says:

problem with my wrx, white smoke is coming from beneath the motor on the
passenger side, car has approx, 122k miles. noticed grease on the boot a
few days ago, any help??? thanks!

David Lango says:

squeeze the square snap ring with no holes open and slide it apart leave
your hammer on the bench

19brendan81 says:

Thanks alot mate. Just did this job on my wifes car and your video was very
helpful.

BaronBadB-RadNobody says:

@sirrom … if you know engines then you should know your cv shafts don’t
come out of the engine….rofl wtf?

believeinbilly says:

Just saved me $150, thank you!

Emmy Burgos says:

easier,we were able to remove that part off and easily slipped on the new
boot, very big help with our jetta, no need for expensive tools.thanks again

foxbag3748 says:

good video- no fluff. answered my problem. done. thanks

rauwly24 says:

great job ,,,,,,i cant believe ,,,,in just 3 minutes and 26 second,,,,,,he
did it ..thanx a lot

Devo says:

@Sirrom0206 you just remove the bolts on the strut arms, and unbolt the cv
joint going into the tranny/diff. slide them out.

David Lango says:

I just found out this was a limited edition Avalanche they only made two
thousand of them in ’06. The square edged snap ring had no holes for a snap
ring tool. My talented master of dexterity friend held it open bigger with
two flat blade screwdrivers and the splines slid apart with no hammer. The
hammer is for the more common round circlips. All you have to do is get the
boot you’re replacing off from there, clean off the grease, and look if
there is a gap and a square snap ring.

kourosh22 says:

thank you very much, superb teaching well done indeed.

IF any says:
