will mckenzie says:

Awesome video. Thank you. I just bought a 93 Nissan D21 and one of the
studs is either broken, or it’s just missing a lug nut, but it looks broken
because it doesn’t stick out much. Completely overlooked wheels while
checking the car out before I bought it :/

Nice to know this can be done preatty easily though :)

panteretic says:

When you put the new stud in you just used a wrench to tighten it and lock
it in place, does that work or do you have to use the impact wrench to get
locked in?

Mr. Hardy Himself says:

Haha dude you’re awesome. You just solved my problem! Thanks man!

Arip Ramli says:

hey scotty. i need a little help. i tried your method of using a nut to
tighten the lug in the hub but it end up stripped the groove for the knurl
area and it just keeps spinning. how can i fix this?

THP State Trooper says:

Those calipers look weird unless I’m missing something lol. My 1988 Bronco
2 doesnt have caliper bolts. It has 2 pins you hit out with a hammer in
order to take it off. Well my front ones. I just realized that’s the
back… I think lol.

Patrick Jones says:

Hey Scotty, what size bolt do I need to tighten the stud. I don’t have
anything laying around the house, so where can I get those?

Shaneka Simmons says:

love this guy, his energy is amazing.

notajo says:

Hey Scotty you are the best my friend I love watching your channel you
really saved me money.

ActionPackedGaming says:

Those sun glasses are a attention getter

Lewis Nerio says:

thx mate followed your video to take care of the missus car,a hyundai
i30,rear wheel stud snapped off in lug nut, couldnt get the rotor off, then i
realised i needed to release the handbrake

jose ARCE says:

what year is that honda, i went to try to do this on my car, and i took off
the rotor but mine looks different from this… i cant hammer out the studs
because theres a lil disc connected to the axle, that prevents it form
coming, im so bummed out right now ha

winkawak says:

you use a impact gun to put on lug nut? i was always told you can easily
overtorque.

Tim Tuttle says:

Glad I am not the only one that tosses them damned rotor screws !! 98.8942
percent of the time I have to drill them out and i grind them flat and am
done with them !

jose ARCE says:

now the axle wont rotate fuck

Hootner90 says:

Is this method the same if your removing it from a Drum brake system on a
small pick-up truck?

Hans Bauer says:

I think one should use a piece of wood and a hammer in order not to damage
the rotor. – experience..

Sheldon Wright says:

I have two broken lug nuts on my car that I am having trouble removing. Ive
tried taking a socket a size smaller than the lug nut and hitting it with a
mallet to get it one an taking it off and brought some grip teeth sockets
to get it off but I still cant get it to break loose, you have any other
ideas? +Scotty Kilmer

berrykooll says:

I went to a mechanic yesterday for a break change and until I got home I
noticed that he wrote on the receipt that I have a broken lug nut. It
wasn’t like that when I left my car in the shop in the morning and he could
of told me when he called me 2 hours after telling me that I needed my
rotors changed as well. Icing on the cake ?! I just notice a dent on the
passenger side which I FOR A FACT KNOW HAPPENED AT THE SHOP because I just
drive my car from the shop to my home. Is there anything I can do? I called
and he said it might have been another shop in the same lot. Isnt it his
responsibility to take care of my car when I gave him the keys. Any advice
how I can approach this situation tommorow?

kevin torrey says:

I have an 89′ honda accord that has zero room to knock out the lug stud to
the rear, I’m thinking I have to pull off the stud mounting plate in order
to make room to knock them out/fit new ones in. HELP! thanks.

kingkuppa100 says:

Thanks to this video Im saving me $150. Recently I went to a well known
tire place to have a flat tire fixed but only left with another “punctured”
tire and stripped lug bolt.. What a headache , next time Im doing it myself.

chumbrega2 says:

If you don’t anything good to say, please be quiet, it’s better for us all.

mbarizia says:

where to but these Lug Nuts? looking for a set of 10 (19mm) can anyone
shade some light? no one on ebay!

Scotty Kilmer says:

you cut the lug nut off first with a torch or grinder

Tyee Cambrón says:

Cool that’s not hard at all, a car that is not mine had that stripped out
because they used a different nut instead of just spending $1 for a new
set. Recently they got the rear tires changed and now drives the car with
only 4 lug nuts out of the 5 total on both rear tires. And not sure if that
has anything to do but now the car has a weird sway to it going around
corners and driving on the freeway

Tristan Edwards says:

Went to a local shop here in Texas and they want $100 for this same job

Scotty Kilmer says:

yes you can, watch all my videos and tell all your friends to subcribe to
the scottykilmer Channel. That’s all the thanks I need.

capybaras says:

You forgot to mention that if you don’t throw away those hub retaining
screws, that some clown will strip it so badly that you will spend hours
drilling out the damn remains

tim morris says:

haha well the first thing i was taught with my automotive training was
never to get under a car that wasn’t supported by axle stands , There’s a
first time for everything – and working alone – if something did happen you
might not be around to tell the story!

Scotty Kilmer says:

yes, all cars are the same

Scotty Kilmer says:

get it scanned by a computer first and get that code. There are over 2
thousand different codes, guessing from my end would be foolhardy without
that code.

knighthawk86855 says:

awesome man….I have a 68 Plymouth and the 3 studs broke off on the front
drum…the drum is still good and now i know how to fix that problem…tks
man!!!!

chumbrega2 says:

Scotty, if I make this process on my car. Even if I do the exactly same way
u did, is the car gonna loose balance or alignment?

Scotty Kilmer says:

I use a grinder or torch, you would have to be REALLY good with a hack saw
to cut it off in that location, but I’ve seen guys do it.

Scotty Kilmer says:

wheel bearings are rather strong and unless it was already 99 percent worn
out from old age, that doesn’t happen.

BetterBuyer says:

Wow, great video! Just did this. Thanks for saying the screws were
unneeded. Mine were so cruddy and fused with New England salt and
corrosion, that the head stripped in milliseconds. So I had to drill them
out. Also, a suggestion. Hard to find big ol’ nuts lying around these days.
I put the disk back on and used the closed end of a box wrench to draw in
the new bolts into place. Fantastic concept either way.

Steven Lawless says:

Mr. Kilmer you are awesome. My wifes Xterra has two stripped bolts on there
and now i can finally fix it myself and save some money. Thank you sir
