whered u get those clips that u first removed? i need to buy some and where can i buy? what do u call them?

Penny Maribojoc says:

what did u just remove at 7:20? and then after that what did u do? what did u exactly do to get it to come off? im doing my brakes on my 08 G37s too! and also if u could email me at unknown_popcorn@yahoo.com (easiest way to catch me). and removing/replacing the rear rotors would be the same exact procedure as this one?? thanks

The Akebono calipers on this G37 are fixed style calipers that do not have slide-pins. Slide pins are necessary for sliding style calipers where there is a piston (or there are pistons) on one side, and a “paw” on the other side. Removing the rust is still a good idea from any mounting surfaces IF there is any rust or other debris present.

hey im actually an apprentice and i have changed many brake pads before. but i noticed that these akebono’s are very similar to the brembo’s. is there a way to service these calipers like regular calipers or are they service free. becuz at the shop i work at we usually grease all the sliders and die grind away all the rust from the brackets but i really dont see how u could do that on these calipers?
