+ThaJonstar Sorry I don’t know, my guess is different models for different
regions.

Vangy Economou says:

It takes 3.3 Liters?

Gregorio Ramirez says:

Sweet, will try this on my accent next time. Beats spending 80 bucks at
jiffy lube.

Vangy Economou says:

what do you think about the lidl oil 15w-40 ? Should i use it with my
Hyundai accent 2001??

PNBNC says:

Yes, I always remove it when I work under the car. It makes it a lot
easier.

PNBNC says:

I know the game and I’m not sure what you mean but, glad I can help!

solinjar says:

Hi,I put 10w40 in my hyundai accent,I am not satisfied with the fuel
consumption, you propose 5w30 for a mild climate then?I almost never get
minus celsius temperatures where I live.

Amanullah Bryan says:

I was looking at this to see what type of fasteners were used when removing
the underside cover underneath but you did not show it. :-S I am missing
the fasteners for the underside of the front bumper cover and the underside
cover behind it. I ordered the fasteners, just hope I got the right ones!
Right now I have some bolts nearly the same size and I used a hot glue gun
to put them in — this does hold — but I hate not having the right
fasteners in there.

PNBNC says:

Well this is a complex question. But you should always follow the manual’s
grading. The oil viscosity is the force that hold it together. Water has a
low viscosity, pine gum has a very high one. The SAE grading has 2 numbers.
One before the W which is the cold rating and one after the dash that is
the warm rating. When you start your car the oil is not uniformly
distributed and your engine has to redistribute it everywhere. If the oil
is too thin its not going to be able to prevent rubbing

PNBNC says:

The check engine should not be on because of the oil change. You probably
have another issue. If you are in the states go to auto zone they will give
you a free diagnosis. If not get an OBDII reader. It can read and erase the
codes.

I put a 15-w40 in my 2001 hyundai (190,000 km). Should that be fine until

Thank you

Hah! Super Mario Kart music where I was not expecting it…the battle mode
theme, right? Thanks for the vid! Gamers like me just looove to use the
internet when figuring things like this out.

Paul C says:

After changing the oil how do you reset the “check oil” light?

ThaJonstar says:

@PNBC How come yours has a metal intake manifold? mine is black plastic

jose Gootilo says:

I have a 1998 hyundai accent hatchback and live in Puerto rico would
10w-40w be good. weather is ALWAYS hot.

solinjar says:

mine is hyunda accent 2004,gasoline,lol,sorry

oliver ulicny says:

hi sir, what is the best engine oil for hyundai accent 2001 1.5 petrol
manual transmission.

hahaboy21 says:

Can you please recommend how to take off the oil filter? I tried for about
30 mins to take it off by hand, and using a rag to make it less slippery,
and i just can’t take it off! D:

Sasha Hartzog says:

this rocks. I am going to try it this weekend, wish me luck!

PNBNC says:

I assume you mean 10W-40. That should be fine. What it means is that the
oil will be thinner when at running temp than for the 10W-30. It is not
unseen to do this kind of switch with older cars.

PNBNC says:

Sorry to hear, good luck with your order!

jose Gootilo says:

10W-40 Ya my bad. Thanks alot! 1+subscriber

PNBNC says:

The car is built with the metric system, so all sockets are in mm. The
drain plug is a 17mm socket.

30508a says:

Did you have to remove the platic splash sheild under the front axle in
order to position the jack stands?

Mohailem Yousif says:

if you take off from the front will be easier. locate under the alternator.
you can use both hands

PNBNC says:

That would be like giving someone a massage with water. If the oil is too
thick it will not be redistributed rapidly which is going to increase dry
rubbing. The best unit to look for would be the CST, the unit for
viscosity. The SAE grading allows an oil to be in a range of Cst. It is
then possible for an oil that is in the higher part of the range of 10W-30
to be very similar to an oil that is in the lower part of the 15W-40.

PNBNC says:

Engine oil is always difficult to choose, but you should be fine with any
high mileage oils. Your choice will have to take into account the
temperature where it will be driven, if it’s in normal weather 5-w30 will
be your choice, Here I used Valvoline synthetic 5-w30 engine oil. They
offer you to suscribe to some sort of waranty if you want. A good filter
will help keep the engine clean as well. They are not very expensive
either. I hope this helps!

David Smesrud says:

What size socket are you using on the drain plug? Thanks.

PNBNC says:

Yes, it can be hard if the filter was replaced too tight last time.
Especially if its oiled up. There is a tool that is specially designed for
that that you can buy at the store. Its not too expensive. You can ask for
one model that will fit your car.
