Almost forgot. These are black aluminum? Are they painted? How do protect it from scratching them up during normal use?
I love my 2017 Santa Fe Limited (full size not Sport). It has factory roof rails. There are a zillion roof racks. I'll use it couple times a year so what are some good rack less than $150??

One rail is longer than the other btw. Longer one goes towards the front of car.
Is there a version with key locks? Going cross country driving soon in my 2013 Santa Fe Sport and don't want to leave $650 Thule box attached to roof with no lock.

The instructions mention using a torque wrench to tighten to a certain specification. Is that not necessary?

No way! Just installed similar rack on mine, and then I'm looking to get an LED fog light bar down low to try and look as OEM as possible. I think I saw your picture online that gave me the idea to put an LED bar on a Santa fe, Lol!

One of the OEM crossbars on my wifes '13 SantaFe Limited with 46K miles has about 3 inches of the black paint missing on one end, near the plastic clamp. I'm contacting Hyundai this week about the failure. I wouldn't have seen it if they didn't start rattling around 35 mph. The crossbar was making an annoying subtle rattling noise. Took me forever to find where that noise was coming from. Good video on the install.
