Wolfe Inugami says:

Wiring my viper in! Thanks for the info on the starter interrupt relay. The
documents do not explain that part as well as you did! I’ll be finishing my
install tomorrow.

Wolfe Inugami says:

Hmm… Might try this next payday. Looking at the Viper 3305V for my
wrangler. Mainly for the 2 way pager function…

Mike Bedore says:

i just bought my first remote start w/alarm. looking forward to the
install. any tips?

Locksmith McAllen Texas Pros says:

*Viper auto alarms. Good choice*

Jose Chaves says:

Hi, Just had it installed on Xterra 02 however I cant still manage to have
it configured to lock or unlock the doors while the car is running.
Currently if the car is Running and I press the unlock button, it will take
like 3 seconds to unlock and if I need to lock the doors, it Activates the
Alarm while the car is running. Any help to get this done? My car doesnt
have a powerlock so all doors must be unlocked by the alarm remote.

thanks

Jose Granado says:

good work! very clean. I just purchased a viper alarm and plan on
installing it myself. good video!

Mike Bedore says:

do i need to upload any software into the module?

Chris Johns says:

I’m installing a similar model(3305v) in my 95 jeep wrangler, so I’ll be
using a minimal setup. I just wanted to confirm, the optional sensors(this
would include power locks, truck release, etc for my application) do not
need to be terminated or grounded or anything other than be tucked away
nearly if not used? I would really only be wiring in the shock sensor,
doors open/closed, the starter/ignition cutoff, and the siren. Great tip
with fishing the wire through the firewall!

Matthew Mckinney says:

You are a life saver! I was confused about the relay this alarm came with.
Turns out its for the start interrupt. Thanks man!

CylenthVision says:

I got a little confused when you started messing around with the ignition
and starter wires. Did you use a relay for them? Also, how many relays did
you have to use to install this alarm system? Got a Viper 5002 myself
having some trouble understanding everything…

Aziz Hanonu says:

Not a bad tutorial but you should never advise people to cut wires or strip
them. Always use proper taps especially since most are not familiar with
handling electrical circuits. Something like this would be more proper to
achieve the same goal.

(this is probably too big of a gauge but they are made for all gauges of
wires)

Phillip Edwards says:

Ok, so I have power door locks on my Civic, I need an alrarm installed,
after market alarm that is. I went into an audio store, a local mom and
pop shop sorta thing, talked to the guy, he said $125, 1 remote, engine
lock, shocks sensor, LED light for inside the car, speaker for alarm, and
lights to flash when alarm goes off… I brought up what about the doors
being able to lock and unlock when I press the button… He told me that
it would be another $50 each door (I have a 2 door) because each door would
need a motor to be installed for the locking and unlocking ability. Now,
common sense tells me (and after watching you do it in this video) tells me
hes full of shit. Am I correct on my thinking?
(im also posting this in case this has happened to other people, and they
have been burned by untrustworthy sales people)

Mitsubishi Lancer Fan Club NYC says:

i would like to see a mitsubishi lancer get one installed. thanks.

Rick Bryan says:

Thank you; nice job. You decided against installing a remote starter?

Luis Acevedo says:

So I’m not sure . Did you wire the remote start… And if so did you use a
bypass module????

Kyle Bennett says:

What if you’ve not got central locking? what wires do we connect to then?
thanks

M Zuberri says:

Jerry- I purchased a 2002 Santa Fe with a viper system installed on it that
the seller didn’t tell me about. I don’t have any remote fobs for it. How
do I get it to work? HELP.

3213victor says:

thank you

JerryRigEverything says:

I think they are fantastic. Its pretty much the same procedure as a car
alarm, and they cost just about the same. Amazon has the best deals on the
DIY kits, so check there first. My truck is a manual though, so i haven’t
really gotten around to finding a system that works with it.

JerryRigEverything says:

Its very similar. Make sure to pull up the wiring scheme for your mazda 6
(to tell what wire does what) Then its the exact same as what i did here.

green bo says:

This is something I want to try I never done a alarm but the way you show
it I think I can do it my self

JerryRigEverything says:

Glad i could help!

JerryRigEverything says:

It would take a thief 10 minutes with the right tools to open up the dash
panel of that car. Longer if he wants to keep it in good condition. This is
assuming that the thief has already studied out HOW to open this particular
dashboard. (Every dash is different.) You are looking at the end result and
working backwards. A thief, randomly coming upon this car, would not know a
single thing. Granted, there are a million places to install a car alarm.
This is a YouTube walk through.

JerryRigEverything says:

Yes, it tells you which wires have electricity, and when. (for finding the
positive door wires) I linked one in the video description for you. Its
very inexpensive.

JerryRigEverything says:

Thanks for your input. Like you stated, there are lots of ways and places
to install alarms. I chose the best for this vehicle and situation.
Everyone watching is free to place their computer and siren where they
wish. Hopefully this video gave them the basics of the install process.

JerryRigEverything says:

You only need a bypass model (for a remote start system) If you key is
‘chipped’. A way of getting around the bypass model is to keep a spare key
zip tied somewhere underneath the dash, but that could compromise the
security of your car.

Bobby Borg says:

Hey man, I just bought a new Grand Cherokee (my model/packageIt did not
come with a Factory Alarm). I was advised to buy a Viper and have it
installed at Best Buys (since the Viper is top-rated and has a life time
warranty) and since Best Buys warranties their work). I don’t mind spending
a little money….would you recommend doing this? My new car is so pretty,
I don’t want anyone to F… it up, do anything to affect the factory
Warranty, or do something to interfere with my current remote? Thx

JerryRigEverything says:

I just googled ‘wiring scheme’ for the particular car i was working on and
would be able to find it that way. Or, if you make a little slit in the
wire and stick your probe (the little light up gizmo i was using in the
video) into the wire, its the wire that has power when the door is opened.
Just make sure to cover the slit with electrical tape after you discover
which one it is.

Keith White says:

how do you feel about a remote start?

JerryRigEverything says:

Thanks man! I’m glad you liked my video. Thanks for the positive feedback.
It means a lot.

Jesse Burke says:

I bought a viper 3203 and I’m installing it on a 2008 Chevy Silverado…
what wires don’t I need to use? It is a extended cab with the back doors
that open from the inside when the front doors are open…

Stefan ramnarine says:

have a 2000 model ford ranger 4×4, unable to locate + an – wires that deals
with turning on the light when a door is opened. Where can i get info to
hook it up, do you know?

garretb07 says:

not the preferred way but it works! bench prep is the key in an alarm
installation.

Chris Payne says:

Thank you for this video Sir it was very helpful for me. Keep up the good
video’s.

JerryRigEverything says:

It depends on how they have it wired. You would just have to go in, and
unconnected all of the starter wires, and reconnect them as they were
before the system was installed. (All the colored wires should match back
up with themselves.) It’ll take you an hour or so.

sageDieuvids says:

Thanks for the video. I have purchased the one you linked to and have been
looking into installing it myself, but I have very little wiring experience
outside of audio equipment (car stereo and speakers) so would not consider
myself qualified at all. Everyone I talk to thinks I should just save up
and pay a shop to do it but I feel like I could figure it out given enough
time… as someone with experience with this specific system, do you think
I could do it correctly without prior experience?

profmentor says:

Thanks for your reply, have you ever installed the autopage RS1100 alarm ?
If you did, do you have any videos on how to install one? Thank you and do
you know if the alarm systems comes with bypass module ? Or you have to buy
it separately? Thank you !

JerryRigEverything says:

The hardest part is identifying the correct wires in your car. But other
than that, it isnt too bad. If you have any experience with car audio
systems it’ll be pretty similar.

Steven Walker says:

I have a ghost viper automatic start..the installer did the auto start for
me but wanted extra to so the alarm park..is hooking the the siren still
the same in my situation?

JerryRigEverything says:

lol, actually, it was 35 degrees(f) outside. What you see is my breath. I
don’t smoke.

Bobby Borg says:

Hey Man, me again (Grand Cherokee). You’re a good man for taking your time
to create these videos. Rock on brutha!!!!!!!

Grey Boosted says:

Viper 5704v works with manual transmission

JaQuan Carter says:

those on there but they don’t know how to disable it
