Freon? Did you charge the system with Freon or refrigerant R134a? please
don’t tell me it is the same.

From your fidgety hands to you contradicting yourself 3 times in one video
you are a joke. I’ll be happy to take a car to you once you learn what the
F YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!

It’s the same

What about PAG oil? I replaced my Condenser and Evaporator this year, the
condenser cause I put a hole in it by accident and the evaporator cause I
had the dash out and found it had a leak. Anyway, when I replaced the
compressor – receiver dryer and orifice tube a couple years ago I had to
put a few ounces of PAG oil in the system. I noticed you dont say anything
about the PAG oil in the video. If you vac a system do you have to put more
PAG oil in???? I am going to vac and fill it tomorrow and I bought a couple
PAG charges. I bought the vacuum pump and manifold gauge set today. I was
playing with the gauges and there is a valve on the set at the top where
the gauges are and there are valves on both low and high side quick
connects. If I open both valves on the low hose or the high hose and turn
on the pump no air goes through the hose. I trouble shot it down to the
quick connect on the low and high hose. Do the quick connects have to be on
a port to flow air??? I was just testing everything before I start. I did
not have the quick connects on any ports. I thought that with both valves
open they should still flow air but the quick connect end has no flow
through. Will it flow once connected??
Thanks

When you flush it with that snap on machine that take out the oil from
compressor also? or just the Freon? I asking you that because I take it the
car to a local shop here in FL and they flushed with a similar snap on
machine and then In my house I pull out the compressor control valve that
is locate in the down side of compressor and just 2 or 3 drop comes out so
I guess is empty of oil. The shop tell me that now for recharge all I need
is Freon no oil….. im comfuesed. please let me know , thanks god blees.

Thank you for taking your time to show us the proper way for doing a A/C
service on a auto.I thought you really did a good job.

Excellent presentation. Easy to understood theory & practical. Double
thumbs up to you for your very useful info.I really enjoy watching your
videos. I liked your way of tutorial, slow & calm. Once again a big thank
you to you for the useful tips. You are Professor David Einstein of modern
mechanical engineers. :-)

Asked question too soon. Look forward to coming for service all the way
from Detroit area. Thanks Sam.

Sam Postema says:

Always! I will never just add a random amount to system, to risky. This
allows you to fill with the exact amount needed and will eliminate freon
from being cause of cooling concerns if afterwards vehicle does not cool
correctly.

You’re a hoser.

RowAshore says:

Just put in a can of R134 in a 2004 Malibu. Still no cooling! Can hear
compressor kick on when press AC button. Thoughts? Great video, very
informative, thanks!

@mrjoeyman No problem, I will keep them coming as I find good subjects
worth recording!

BTUMECHANICAL HVACR says:

he should hire a HVAC mechanic because this guy just babbles you with bull
shit , he makes no sense , we watch it all the time for fun.. And if the
refrigerant leaks out the next day ( like he says ) does he warranty it
after he showed you 3 ways he made sure that no leaks are present?what ever
cant wait to see the other videos

sherribrown444 says:

if I am replacing my condensor do I need to vacuum the system? how
important is it to do this?

Dan NY W says:

Do I need to replace the Receiver Drier also? I just check my AC system
with the manifold gauge and it shows no pressure, I think my system
properly been empty for about a year or so.

Zappacosta says:

Good question. I’d like to know. Is Sam still monitoring these comments?

Shreekant Deshpande says:

I need to change my Taurus-2005ac compressor. how much will be the cost of
it?

Sam Postema says:

Do not release the vacuum from the system must stay under a vacuum. Install
yellow hose to your can. Hopefully there is a shutoff valve very close to
the end of the yellow hose or air will enter into hose and system. Once you
pierce the can open the low side of the system or blue side and Freon will
flow from can to vehicle. On some cars they can be difficult to fill. You
can start vehicle and the a/c pump will pull the Freon in from the can.
Once full close off valves and check for cold temp.

Androidfan2012 says:

What happens if I hold the can upside down and got liquid in the low
pressure side it was my first time so i did not know not to do
that……How can i get the liquid removed or do i just turn on the AC and
let it run out itself ?

Sam Postema says:

Sounds good to me. I only charge $50 to do a leak check which includes
adding freon to the system and dye. The a/c has to at least turn on and
function in order to pass the dye through the system. We can usually do
this while you wait.

Sam Postema says:

@RowAshore Couple of possibilities as stated in video, if you did not
vacuum air is in system equals no cold air or you did not put enough freon
in the system. If compressor turns on means you have enough pressure to get
some cool air and that the system is electronically and I would say for the
most part mechanically capable of producing cold air.

Sam Postema says:

Once you pulled it down to a vacuum make sure you leave it for about 20
minutes to make sure it does not leak down. The low side will shoot up but
adding another can will just make it go higher. There could be a
restriction in the system causing a high low side pressure reading. Try
starting the vehicle and a/c on full and see if the compressor turns on and
pulls pressure down to around 30-40 psi. the high side pressure should be
around 100-150 psi on a hot day can go 250-300 psi.

Zappacosta says:

Am I missing a video? Where is the video to install an A/C unit?

Sam Postema says:

Do not buy used usually junk from collision. You can buy aftermarket and it
will work just fine. Contact your local parts suppliers and they can get
you one. Yes replace the orings always. Usually come with new part. If not
save them and take to parts store with you so you can match them up or they
will leak. Make sure to put a light coat of ac oil on them when installing
them so they do not rip or get dammaged.
