still need to buy one?

DayV88 says:

How do you charge the replacement battery? Do you plug it into the wall
like the original battery? Looking to buy replacement and would like to
know.
Thanks

I found a 12V 51AMP SLA battery at Battery Mart will this work if I
incorporate a 30 AMP fuse? Thanks – great video.

Vapers Win says:

I put that battery in our peg p corvette and its not the same set up as in
the video. Also tried to sign up to the forum and the question is
confusing. Says to give first 3 letters in caps of all three words
MODPOWWHE. Says that’s not correct.

Anyways. I took the battery and put a fuse in line. But I am left with a
circuit board. I wonder if I should have wired the board in as well cause
the car is only turning one wheel and only in high gear. No low gear, and
no reverse. Guess I will keep searching Google.

Nice explanation.

So the product i’m looking for is a 12V lead acid battery? 30 amp fuse and
fuse holder/breaker? and barrel connectors. Just for a cheap alternative
battery for my girls PW mustang. (i’ve already modified the steering by
cutting off the plastic stop so the turning ratio is smaller) 🙂 Thanks in
advance~

iixxvmmii says:

thats a great video.. thanks for doing it. Where did you buy those new
batteries from? I am now wanting to do the same with my battery, but just
want to make sure to buy the right battery that will work. (like in the
video) thanks again!

Scott Campbell says:

Excellent video. I’ve ordered a PW F150 (12v) for my son for Christmas. I
would like to get a second battery for it. Is there anyplace or anyone that
sells the PW battery connector (like you just removed from the “bad”
battery)? I don’t have a bad battery to remove the connector from for use
with a second/backup non-PW brand battery. Great info in this video!

Shane Cassady says:

very helpful, thanks

blake0711 says:

You use your stock charger. That is what I am showing you how to stay with
the stock battery connections. The replacement batteries at 12v sealed lead
acid rechargeable batteries.

looking for!

CivilEngineerStudent says:

Is this safe for the kids? Is there any way that it can be dangerous? Also,
Can you write down exactly the names of the parts we need for this? I am a
total newbie and I wanted to save money by doing this so if you could
provide some assistance.

franklin pascual says:

Thanks o lot my friend ,great information !!!

blake0711 says:

google modified power wheels you can find a forum by that name. The guys
there can help you find a extra battery connector.

I just got a little tractor with 12 volt perego battery but no charger have
you ever tried to use a 12v car battery charger and just tapped into the
wires to charge ….I may try a slow 12volt charge but what do you think?

blake0711 says:

@iixxvmmii I buy from Guber Power Systems I added a link for a forum that
has their info in under my description.

Thank you so much for this video…you’re doing a great service to parents

brand name battery with this free video. Thank you!

Hi great vid I had a question for u. I upgraded my sons pw to 24v with a pw
brand battery an the breaker pops and resets every know and then would I be
able to change to a 40 amp breaker ?

Thomas Harry says:

Perfect. So incredibly useful. Thanks a lot blake0711. In process of
replacing an abused Power Wheels battery. Used, they ‘didn’t know’ it’s
supposed to be charged frequently, like a car battery. I guess they can’t
read. “Charge about 4 hours,” they say. “Charge when it doesn’t work
anymore!” So depressing. Clearly says “Charge (14 hours) after use” all
over the place. /rant

Rashid Sajjad says:

because the power draw was too much for the charger and they typically are
not fused for protection

Lester Prieto says:

Nice Video. I bought a replacement battery for my son’s John Deere truck
and didn’t have an idea on how to take off the blue cover and thanks to
this video my son is now enjoying his truck. Thank you!!!!

VentarCirell says:

Yah man thanks for the video! I had the peg perego battery and needed it
replaced and i stumbled across this video. You made it easy, i did order
from GPS. I went ahead and bought two since they are out of Pheonix. They
were only like 23 each but shipping it to GA did cost a little bit. Thanks
again!

PGHSK8R says:

Dude, thanks so much for posting this video!

blake0711 says:

yes you can change them. You have to buy one though search modified power
wheels dot com someone there can hook you up

blake0711 says:

sure you can use a car battery charger. Best to make sure you use smart
one. I charge all my kids 6 and 12 batteries with a schmacher SC-600A
charger. About $35 from amazon. Maybe you can find at walmart. Just don’t
use batter mainters from places like harbor freight or it will cook the
batteries.

huguincito47 says:

Hello Can you please give me the exact model number for the aftermarket GPS
battery? Thanks

darknature79 says:

I don’t think my comment posted the 1st time….I got one of the john deer
tractors this morning from my boss the tractor works but not sure about the
battery have you ever tapped into a battery and used a car battery
charger?ithink I may try to slow charge the battery have you tried it
before I am wondering if it’ll work cause I don’t have the charger

blake0711 says:

24v is a lot of juice for stock wiring. going up to a larger amp breaker
would risk possibility of fire or wires melting if you didn’t upgrade
wiring for larger amp draw. I wouldn’t suggest it.

blake0711 says:

If you hooked the 24v batts to a 12v charger that would blow something. You
needed to charge them independently on the 12v charger or get a 24v
charger.

mkrads says:

Excellent it works

Do you know where I could get a 24 volt battery replacement? I tried
looking on that gruber site but it only shows 12 volt batteries.

Rebels8scott says:

how would you charge it. wouldnt you have to buy a 12volt recharcheble
battery if you wanted to charge it. because if you did that. wouldnt you
still need to charge it, or not?

S Rob says:

Great idea ! Thanks for the video.
