Did this kinda work for 26 years. And am I the only one who loves the smell of brake clean and new tires?

How About says:

Ray, from Australia, how come no swearing? Starting to think your not a mechanic at all?

Robert Herberg says:

After watching this, I do not like Hummers.

Hooptie Rescue says:

I always test the repair at the earliest opportunity, like in this case, before putting the skid plates back on.

I was taught 50 years ago when I removed the drive shaft on a 1963 Chevy Impala with a 2 piece drive shaft changing a bad center bearing carrier to make paint marks on ALL things connected to drive shaft, u-joints & caps, differential flange to axle assembly, to make sure they were installed the same as taken apart to minimize vibration. Oh yeah, GREAT JOB!

Kenneth Farley says:

Dios Mios!, that's alot of work just to fix a leaking oil pan gasket

Kenneth Farley says:

"This thing needs a little bit of wood!"
That's what she said, pointing at what she's got up the middle.

I'll bet there isn't a queue of mechanics wanting to take that job on. As bad a pulling the gearbox out of a Nissan Patrol on the floor of a shed in winter. DAMHIK……

Eric Findley says:

I would never use a lucas product. Check the MSDS on their products.. it's very scary that they don't do anything to actually try to cure/solve a problem. the stop leak you showed is literally 140wt gear oil with no leak sealing addtives. You don't stop a leak by making the oil thicker to bypass the leak.
when lucas "oil treatment" is used, it's the same 140wt gear oil, no soap, no detergents, no anti-foaming addtives at all. It's the ultimate snake oil. I forgot the term for that type of oil that lucas uses for this, but it's like "waste" oil that they refine into a thick sludge.
They sell their low quality products by using verbiage that talks to the regular average person. Great marketing tactic.
But when you drain oil that had their oil stabilizer or stop leak or their "synthetic" stabilizer, notice the oil comes drains out and has a cloudy look to it. that cloudiness is: aeration.
Aeration in an oil system is bad.
Sorry for the vent. Check the MSDS.

Joe Cifelli says:

I have a hyundai accent that I do the oil changes on myself and I think the oil pan gasket would be a little easier to replace. Lol
