I believe I have the same issue with my H3. Makes clicking noise when I step on gas while moving forward or backward. I've taken my to Firestone and they told me my engine mounts are broken and thats what's causing the noise and should take it to dealer asap. I told them they are morons because if my mounts were broken, my whole car would be shaking..(I have this on paper)… I did take it to Chevy dealer and they said my mounts are fine but both of my front axles will need to be replaced at $1806.15 for the service with labor. I did do that and car still makes the same noise when I drive. So I feel like I wasted my money!
Not one mechanic ever mentioned the shift fork issue with H3's! We need more mechanics like you out there……Wish you were in Florida, I would get my car to you!!! Now I know the way to go. I love the vehicle the same as I did when I first sat in it in 2007 when it was brand new. I'm hoping for it to stay in my family for many many more years…… Thank you for this.

I have been trying to chase down this issue with my H3. I've done everything from new brake caliper, brake hoses, hub bearings and even replaced the right front transaxle, because it felt like the right wheel was locking up while making sharp slow turns. Not one mechanic I talked to ever mentioned the shift fork issue with H3's……dammit. Now I know the right direction to go. I love the vehicle and don't want to trade it off. Thank you for this.
