On my wife’s ’05 Civic, the power-steering reservoir — though it looks
like the one in your video — doesn’t seem to pull out because a metal part
on the side opposite the washer reservoir is holding it in. Yours
apparently has no such part so you can easily pull it out.

Abigail Frances says:

You are my hero! The Owner’s Manual for my ’05 Civic made changing the
light seem so difficult, but this video made it easy as could be. Thank you
so much for this video! :)

Matthew Cline says:

For anyone watching this who looks inside their car and says “Oh shit, my
car has screws, I can’t just do the quarter turn to get the headlight out”,
there is good news: YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE SCREWS!!! Ignore them and
just do the quarter turn counterclockwise as the video suggests. I learned
this the hard way after failing miserably at trying to unscrew these screws
with every type of screw driver I could find around the house.

Also, it appears as though some models (including mine) do not have a
removable top piece of the windshield washer reservoir as shown in the
video. This makes the removal of the headlight slightly more awkward, but
it is still very possible.

Once I decided to actually listen to the video and ignore the screws, it
took me less than 2 minutes total to change bulb. EASY!!!

Thanks, nukem384!

The connector was so tight to turn and I didn’t have screw driver to fit
the space to loosen the Phillip screws. My friend help me and he used
channel-lock to turn the connector, and finally replaced the bulb.

Bryan Kulczycki says:

Very Simple with this video. Thanks, saved me a ton of time seeing I could
take out the power steering reservoir.

Thanks for the tutorial. Cheers

Kevin Christian says:

Thank you for the help, first time I’ve ever fixed anything on a car.

Jeremiah Selvey says:

Awesome. It only took me five minutes from start to finish, including prep.
Thank you!

Todd Crandall says:

Thanks! Once I knew to twist it instead of trying to get a screwdriver in
there it was easy!

M del Castillo-Hegyi says:

Time and money saving. Thanks so much!!

J Jhay says:

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Very helpful video. I managed to changed both the driver and passenger side
for my car.

i cannot get my bulb out. my washer resevoir is in one piece as well and im
struggled for 2 hours now trying to untwist the bulb and it wont move. what
to do?

Javier Gomez-Blanco says:

My civic washer is one piece too, but the procedure is the same. Thanks a
lot

Mike M says:

THANK YOU! I was able to replicate this process very easily. The only
problem was that my car has almost 160,000 km (100,000 mi) and the plastic
was a bit dusty and therefore not very slippery. I bought the part at my
local Honda dealership for $13.05 in Canada after taxes. It fit in so
amazingly easily… I was just surprised and feeling satisfied with myself.
Thanks again!

jeffrey bateham says:

yeah my resivoir is one piece too,but it still isnt that hard guys…just
loosin the 3 phillip screws with a long driver and it will pop out with
that same 1/4 turn…come on guys use your heads and quit bitching

markahuasi1968 says:

excelente, lo hice en dos patadas, piece of cake… Gracias. Thanks.

jonp347 says:

Mine too. Sucks. There is no way I can get to the headlight bulb. Honda
makes reliable cars but changing out a headlight bulb shouldn’t be as
complicated as they make it.

Johnson Wong says:

Fyi my civic washer reservoir is one whole piece
