would this work with regular fog lights? i have a pair of universal ones coming in soon and it comes with the wires and a switch. how would the switch installation work? could i just ignore that and connect it so that it turns on with the low and high beams possibly? just a bit confuesed and i dont feel like spending a huge amount of money on a mechanic to do it for me. thanks

Positive voltage comes from the fuse box right?
And just make sure you dont use them if its not foggy unless you dont give a fuck about dazzling oncoming drivers. And it is an offence that carries a fine…I havent seen fog for over 20 years so its not likely you will ever need fog lights in this country and dont confuse fog with mist.

@maddog1746 use your car battery to figirr out which is negative. the positive will go to the red terminal and the negative to the black. touch the wires to the terminals and see of it lights up if not switch them around abd try again. your negative is always your ground wire the positive goes to your power source whether that be the fuse box or the positive battery terminal.
I am a little confused I have the same lights how can I can which one is positive and which is negative? Do I connect the negative end to the battery?
@thatguyx7 you don’t have to solder it, i just did it to be 100% sure it was secure. in all reality you can twist the end of the wires together and just uae electrical tape to cover it. you are trying to use the electricity flowing from the fuse wire. looking up basic wire connections on google might help.
So with the long wire comin out of the fuse box… The point where you stripped it a bit to attach the positive.. Do you attach it by soldering it? I’m a bit confused so please help, thanks
Unfortunately the 08 civic does not really have a fuse under the hood that turns on an off right away with the car. However the fuse that I use is the one that is used for the oil pump. It turns on with the car the only issue is that there is a slight delay on them turning off. It usually varies from instantly after car is turned off to about 30 mins. However Led’s use such little power it won’t kill the battery. I have the Lights and 2 dash cams hooked up to it and the car has never been dead.
Hey i wired my Leds just like you said i connected the positive wire on too 7.5A in the fuse box but it doesn’t turn off when the car is off? did i do something wrong?
have not had a problem to this day, weird i thought for sure the double side tape wouldn’t work. oH as well I also wash my car through auto wash twice a week and they have put up with that just fine
Just pull the fuse and wrap the wire around one of the fuse legs and then shove it back in the hole
