I tried that way but the bolt was too tight the manufacturer don't leave it looseike you describe on the video

This must be one of the GREATEST HOW TO VIDEOS of all time. He tells exactly what tools to useand how to do it unlike those that just say take it off. Also great because he gives NO BS. Many HOW TO VIDEOS spend more time on unrelated BS than on actually HOW TO turning a 7 minuite video into an hour of wasted time. GREAT

This is great. I heard taking off the starter is supposed to be hard, but this seem very doable.
I'm reinstalling mine in the morning , I'm going to tack weld an old socket to that back starter bolt bolt . Why didnt Honda just make it two inches longer …….. pricks

The video is informative. All I can recommend to anyone doing this work is USE POWER TOOLS, not just wrenches. Of course, all I have is wrenches and there is just not room to work. It's taken hours to just get the starter out. I'll finish tomorrow.

Honestly, it only took me an hour to do everything including replacing new brushes in my starter. This video takes so long and complicated.
…I forgot to add…great video! The camera work is excellent. It’s so good that it makes the workspace look deceptively large. The scratches on my hands and arms say otherwise…
That rear bolt was a mofo to put back on. Not faulting you, but it took me about five hours. Unfortunately my fingers, arms and shoulders feel like they have been through a meat grinder. Great camera lighting and angles.

BIG LIE!!!!!! WAAAYYYYYY EASIER TO TAKE THE INTAKE OFF. NO NEED TO REMOVE THE KNOCK SENSOR. STARTER OFF IN 10 MIN BY TAKING OFF THE INTAKE
Does this installation work with aftermarket starters with an external solenoid? I've read a couple reviews that it can be done. Is there enough room to manipulate the starter into place in your opinion? Thanks!
Record the same video without the lift and see how easy it is. All of these "easy" videos are done with the vehicle on a lift. THE AVERAGE GUY DOESN'T OWN A LIFT!! Of course it's easier standing than lying on your back! Anyone knows that. I can bet the bolts on my starter are rusted/seized to f#%k from thirteen Wisconsin winters worth of salt. Should be fun breeaking those free when the time comes. I think I'll just leave the thing alone until I have to get it towed when it finally and totally craps out on me. At least then I'll know it HAS to be replaced. Right now it's only spinning once in a while. Hooray for cars. I will give props though. Good video and very clear. Can I borrow your lift?

Awesome video, could I take off that 17 mm bolt without any power tools? I like the rig you have with the extension I'd like to just use a ratchet
So I completed the job and saved a few hundred dollars as flat rate was 2 1/2 hrs. Everything was as u said but I have average hand size and I elevated on ramps but what a nightmare. The long bolt between the engine is horrible and it was a bit of contortion work just to find the bolt head. Getting back together was worse including the knock sensor but I electrical taped the socket to the bolt and with many small cuts and scrapes, it’s back together. The starter wasn’t acting like a normal faulty starter and bench tested normal but because the job is so difficult, I decided to remove one problem and replaced it any way. So far it seems like that was the problem. I think while under load, it acted differently.

After purchasing a 1/4 flex head ratchet, I found you can pull starter out towards you, lower and twist the starter and you have enough room to use a standard 1/4" ratchet. Awesome video, saved me lots of money. Yeah, I'm still going to keep the flex head though.
