Wow, this is a common problem with crvs. This just happened to mine and it
constantly locks and unlocks it self when I’m driving. It’s driving me
crazy.

Graeme Carleton says:

Thanks alot Jim. This was the 2nd rear door actuator I’ve replaced in a
year. First one took me forever with other videos, and I had to drill out
the 3 screws after stripping them. This time on the other door, I
practically did it in real time with your step by step guide, made it very
very easy. One piece of advice I’d give for other novices though, is that
this time I got those screws out easily by using a PH3 screwdriver tip
(actually a ‘CR-V PH3’) and turning the screwdriver with a plumbers wrench
attached to the handle.

Great video, saved me $200. Thanks for passes on your wisdom to those of us
who are less in the knows about fixing things.

Rishika Joshi says:

How much is the actuator and where can i buy one ?

Bobby Losin says:

Hi, How would you know which of the 4 actuator is the culprit? Thanks

jihwan lee says:

great video!!
anyone have a part number for the driver side rear actuator?

papackar says:

Thanks. I’ve had the exact opposite problem. When you lock the rear
driver’s side door manually or with the key remote, or from the driver’s
seat, it unlocks itself within about a second (2008 CRV). I can’t leave
anything valuable in the car. Also while driving, I can hear the door
unsuccessfully trying to lock itself every couple of minutes. It’s pretty
annoying.

The dealership asks $209 to fix it. I’m going to buy the actuator and
replace it myself.

Jose Cora says:

Thanks for posting this video. I have this very issue and hopefully I will
save $300. Just one question. If I am unable to remove those difficult
screws what type of drill bit will I need to extract them?

Doel Martinez says:

Nice job. Going to fix my fathers 08 Crv. Thanks.

Nicholas van Cleve says:

They quoted me $300 at the dealer.

I have Honda Brio Amaze Sedan. Its base model and doesnt have keyless entry
feature. I want to do an after market keyless entry system install. I dont
know whether the central lock on driver side is electrical or pneumatic.
Can you please guide me on this. Can you suggest any video link where i can
see how keyless entry system gets installed. Appreciate your work ! Please

I need to do this exact fix – is the drivers door steps the same? Did you
purchase a honda part or an aftermarket one to fix? Thanks for taking the
time to do this video.
