I increased the jet size in my walk behind Honda snowblower and it worked great….on the good advice of a youtuber. I want to increase the jets on my Bercomac 72 inch blower with gx 690. I can do the job…but I dont know which jets to use. Can you help? Thanks

John Miner says:

Second time I’ve watched this video. Also, my second attempt at cleaning the carburetor on my Lawn Boy mower. This time I watched very closely. I did find a plugged pilot jet which I cleared and re-assembled the carburetor with the main nozzle NOT upside down. After putting everything back together it started on the first pull. You da man!

DavBoston says:

Could use your expertise. I cleaned my carburetor it was filthy think water in the gas. I’ve cleaned carb twice all Jets and holes are clear when I spray them. When I try to start the lawn mower it won’t start. Got it started twice after many pulls and it dies about ten seconds in. I can see bowl is fill with gas and it ran for ten seconds after many pulls so idk what the problem is. Oil is good, spark plug also good.

William Buck says:

Thank You!!!!!!! Love to Learn how to repair things myself.

John McDonald says:

Hal Campbell says:

I recently purchased a new Lifan ES5700 generator having a chonda engine. My problem is slightly different. When cold, it starts easily and reliably 1st pull every time. However, after it warms up just a few minutes, say 5 minutes it will not restart whether choked or not – no matter how long I pull the cord. However, just a sniff of starting fluid will pop it off without a problem. So, what's causing this hot restart problem? Although I have a work around, I'd really like to get it to start properly in all conditions. Would appreciate your help. Thanks.

I have a troy bilt push mower with a honda engine. The choke has the slide lever that returns when you pull the rope to start. But when you slide the choke, the choke doesn't close. How to fix it

John W. Komdat says:

Steve, thank you for this excellent video. The throttle appears to be seized in the closed position in my Honda carburetor (non-running GCV135 engine on a Delta pressure washer). Can you recommend a way to break it free without breaking it?

Jari Kinnunen says:

I blocked the largest ducts and pumped air through the bottom leak outlet with a large pump. Pressure went up to 2 bar. It works. It can be do when carburetor is filled.

Andrew L says:

Thanks for the video Steve. My push mower was surging and sure enough the main jet was clogged about 50% closed. Cleaning it out fixed the issue.

Reminder to everyone to wear safety glasses! One poorly placed spray of the carb cleaner had it shooting right back at my face.

David Hill says:

Steve – Awesome, helpful video. Thanks Dave

Brian Fasulo says:

I cleaned carb using your video but i have fuel pouring out the back of carb when the bowl fills up. Yes i put a new gasket behind the carb from Honda. HELP!

Playday Rider says:

Well done and informative, but why would anyone want to go through this much time and trouble, hoping to get it reassembled correctly and without ruining a part for $17-20 replacement carburetor?

Henry Nettles says:

Thank you very much for this very clear cut, very helpful video. I took apart and cleaned the carburetor on my lawnmower with the Honda GVC160 engine. It was still starting easily, and running okay, except for surging. I found nothing dirty and nothing stopped up, but after following the instructions in your video it works like brand new again. no surging whatsoever.
