mark price says:

All those electronic safety features are still being bug-proofed and not ready for prime time yet. They will be throwing codes and having folks go back to the dealers till they smooth out the wrinkles. Personally, I don't want my car to steer for me, or brake for me, or warn me every 10 seconds about getting outside the lines, —if you need all that garbage, just take Uber or ride the bus.

J C says:

Hasn't it always been more likely to get into a car crash than a airplane crash? Lol..

Jan says:

Look at 90s Volvos and Volvo now …. saaaaad B230F noises

pornokid333 says:

If I had a dollar for every time Scotty used the words "bye" "rip" and "goodbye" in his video thumbnails…I could buy out Chevrolet..

roger condliffe says:

loose the tesla obd

W Smith says:

How much training do drivers get for their driver assist or self driving car? The manual and a YouTube link, lol.

Rick Vinson says:

I wouldn't trust anything put out by Netflix, or any of the networks. Certainly liberals are always going to find fault with capitalism. "Greed" is a convenient culprit, while they pursue their own brand of greed for power; more and more government control, which means more economic decline, which means greater decline in quality and efficient in business and industry.

zerocryption says:

Are we talking about vehicle reliability or vehicle safety? Those are two very different things.

W Smith says:

Car companies just want to pump them out regardless of problems or inferior parts. Recalls seem to be the norm now.

P Pumpkin says:

Scotty you have good content, but I can't listen with that background music, WTF? Why do you think you need that crap?

Richard Autenzio says:

Scotty my friend we all know that the Japanese by th 70' tough us how to make a dependable car. By the nineties many of the other manufacturer's had caught up some what, and thus we saw some of the best cars made in that period. What happened after that? Well the motorist along with the likes of "Top Gear" and their influences on the motorist began to dictate to the motor industry. The modern motorist wanted speed, performance and gadgets and so the motor industry obliged. The modern motorist was not happy with a 4 cylinder or straight 6, they wanted V6, V8 and even V12. To impress their neighbours and friends. Then they also wanted turbo and stiff sports suspensions. It got so bad that even the family practical car had to be a sports car or a racing car. Everything I see today is sports and over engineered. And the car manufacturer's know that their best and most dependable engines, are the simpler 4 cylinder and straight 6's but.. they want to sell cars so they give us stupid people the car that we wanted but don't need. I mean who needs problems? When I was a teenager back in the 60's most top luxury cars were great value for money. But today the gap has narrowed so much that the luxury car is now just a money pit suffering from big depreciation because they are no more dependable than a cheaper Asian car.

QRST TSRQ says:

Sorry to say this but, the new features are for ideots who want to sleep when driving the car, this trend must be ended ,No sleep mode when driving.

Zarp Sterr says:

The pool of new car buyers is tanking hard as the cost of living explodes…..so for most of us, a pipedream.

JDM guy says:

My 2018 (Japanese built) Mazda 2 has been faultless so far so I can't concur with this apparent trend. My 2003 Civic still runs strong.

David Thomas says:

I get more informative and entertainment from Scotty than the news on tv. Scotty should have more subscribers when there's a couple billion people in the world.

J C says:

As any mechanic will tell you, the late 1990's through around 2008 was the best for cars. Good mileage, reliability and serviceability. Todays cars are too complex. The dealers can't even fix them. I don't believe todays cars will last more than 5 years without a major breakdown. Therefore, I do not want to buy a new car… Too much crap on them

J McCain says:

If those aren't reliable anymore then what is?

ThroneSmasher says:

Scotty what do you think of the 2022 Hyundai Elantra N?

Mark Durl says:

i drive a 19 year old ford falcon, id trust it over a toyota anyday

Luxury Lifestyle says:

This is part of the scam! Dependable cars mean smaller sales. They manufacture crap to boost sales and service. Manufacturers need new sales and dealerships need service customers. Service is a dealerships cash cow, 80% of revenue.

Perich29 says:

I'm safer in both my car and the Semi Truck because i'm all ready on the ground, so if I have mechanical problem, I don't have to yiell to ATC and ask for airport to land, I just either try to make it to truck stop, or if I have to park on the shoulder, set triangles, and call for road side service.

O says:

I love my '09 civic! Sad to hear the new ones aren't reliable. Mine runs like a champ I love it

Gratian says:

In my country Toyota offers 8 years or 200.000 km warranty, and if you buy a hybrid one you get 10 years warranty for the hybrid system and batteries. So can it still be unreliable?

TairaM says:

Thank you for the research and data you provided. Still learning from you, Scotty. Take care! We need people like you out there.
