Hosea Johnson says:

Daytime video might have been a bit better but still a very informative
video.

UFO LEN says:

Well at least I know I’m capable of actually fixing this damn thing.

allstock5 says:

Awesome video i have the same problem with my 94 accord. One question , how
much does that replacement part cost? i might asume there different prices
per year.

mimcdonald03 says:

Just followed your instructions to replace my VSS in 01 accord. Thanks for
posting this video… it was a huge help!

Clark Kent says:

@TheAlexManVideos by the way bro im an Australian so i dont know if i can

Clark Kent says:

from? for type of vehicle its a gonda aswell. took it to get it looked at
they said 1500 juat to fix it i cant be fuxked paying that much for a small
problem bro

jamesrrodgers says:

thanks Alex your video showed me where the speed sensor was on the Honda.
On 96 Accord check engine code P0501 vehicle speed sensor. This part is not
covered in Haynes repair manual (great book). On my 96 Accord the speed
sensor does not include the speedometer gear in your video. I ordered from
CarParts.com for $36 delivered in 9days.

sighedeffects says:

@TheAlexManVideos Thanks. I really meant it when I said I appreciated it…
I was able to replace the VSS after I saw the location in this video. I
must say, though, the socket extension was necessary for me… i tried for
a while without it and only managed to injure my thumb. (Not much space to
get much torque) Also, I have a ODBII reader – you can reset the CEL that
way, too. 😛 I cannot thank you enough for this video, though… the amount
of savings from doing this myself was quit nice.

Jay Beh says:

informative video, i have a 91 prelude myself(auto) and ive been trying to
deal with this MOFO for a minute… BUT WHY was it done at NIGHT!!! lmao!!

toby me says:

I can’t tell if you are working on this from the engine compartment or from
underneath the car. Would have been nice if this was done during the day
but thanks for the effort

hbo2019 says:

We’re did you get the part

TheAlexManVideos says:

Yes it will affect performance. The computer will realize that a sensor is
malfunctioning and go into a sort of safe mode. Vtec will not engage so it
should feel the same up to 4000 RPM and then it will not be as powerful as
before. Also, cruise control will not work. Once you replace the sensor and
clear the codes it will be as good as new.

Clark Kent says:

@TheAlexManVideos yeah ecu light comes on. could you send me a libk to the
part you orded plz thnx for your reply bro cheers

TheAlexManVideos says:

@sighedeffects I apologize for filming this at night. It was a convenient
time for me. Anyway, the extension isn’t necessary. You could fit a ratchet
down there but it made it easier since I had a lot more room to spin the
ratchet when it was out of the mess of wires and hoses and such. The only
tools you need are the 12 mil and whatever screwdrivers were necessary to
remove the intake tube from the airbox to the throttle body. After that
it’s plug and play.

sighedeffects says:

I do really appreciate this video… as I have the same problem in my 2001
Accord. Every site I’ve found has given me wrong information. (A few sites
told me I had to remove my tires, or go under my car.) I spent over an hour
looking for this thing and couldn’t find it due to bad information. I
really just wish you had done this with daylight/more light…and showed
the removal process… also, is the extension bar necessary on the socket?
What tools are needed besides the 12mm socket?

DREBLAXX says:

Ur about to save me a bunch a money. Big up.

qshooter151 says:

thanks for this vid. big help.

adambarrett5 says:

@iamchaser Okay so this guy made a video to help us out, and you are giving
him attitude for it? He’s not being paid for this, he did it merely as a
courtesy to you and me, so you probably aren’t in a position to be
choosy… but Alex, thanks for the video, I looked all over for the speed
sensor and unfortunately, the Haynes manual only had illustrations for the
automatic transmissions. I’m gonna go right now to put it all into
action… oh and way to maintain composure

miguelolvera93 says:

THanks BIG help.!

Kevo Butthajit says:

Wait, is it the same concept if my speedometer is like off speed. Like when
i drive, the mph is way off, i’m going like 20mph, and it says i’m going
like 60. ANY HELP?

TheAlexManVideos says:

Well in that case, call whatever your local auto parts place is. Why would
you bother with a store that doesn’t exist in your country?

loz3r25 says:

My speedmeter is off by 10. Does that mean my vss is bad?? Thank you!

Stuart Farnham says:

I’m having a problem with the speedometer on my 95 honda accord hatchback
and I’ve been looking solutions with mixed results. My speedometer works
sometimes but for the most part it rolls back behind 0. The other solution
I found was to replace the speedometer’s circuit board. if my speedometer
works sometimes should I replace the circuit board or do this?

TheAlexManVideos says:

That resets the Maintenance Required light. The Maintenance Required light
is used to remind you that your car is due for service. It comes on every
7500 miles which is the oil change interval. I don’t think it resets the
check engine light.

Paul Williamson says:

you should have filmed this in the day dude !
