where do u buy the bolts
What kind of Impact gun do you recommend to install drain plugs?
REALLY GOOD ! that last advise about putting oil in the pan to clean the metal chips after tapping that really shows you really have the knowledge of what you are doing (GOOD JOB !)
Good thinking! Appreciated!
Great video. As the saying goes, the first part to "go bad" on a new car is the oil drain plug…
Could also use dorman m14x1.50 slotted plug.
works on all kinds of fittings where the threads are buggered/cross threaded. Did this a few weeks ago on an old espresso machine using a diamond file on the old bolt to create cutting surfaces to chase threads as I tightened. Other mechanic looked at me like I was nuts, but it worked perfectly!
Does Toyota Camry have aluminum oil pan?
how could you dislike, dork.
what brand video camera are you using? the quality is very good
Thanks man very usefull. keep making videos
great tip, man
Another great video …. Thank You !!
Great tip! Many thanks
Great tips from you and your viewers comments as well, thanks for the video.
Excellent explanation, thanks.
Good video, have used this method quite often to get me out of trouble. Those do not look like 3/8 x 2" bolts though, more like 1/2" x 1". 3/8 is smaller than a m12 thread,
Good video. followed over from GarageJournal. another trick that works sometimes with the aluminum pans is to use a longer bolt that is the proper size. the longer bolt will grab threads that are deeper. also , when doing the re-tap repair if you put bearing grease on the " Tap " or new custom bolt before starting to install the grease will catch the shavings. just cut a little . back out , remove shavings and repeat till done.
