Old compressor was dry.

Dean English says:

One slight problem….I know it worked good for you but you are supposed to drain the old compressor and measure the contents. Then the new one drain all the oil and put the same amount of new oil you measured out of the old one. 5oz seems like its the whole system not just the compressor. Glad you didn’t have any problems

hp11208 says:

I didn’t remove any mount to get the belt off.

45bretster says:

Hi again. Just wanted to add to clarify. It seems like I need to take off the front motor mount or dampener to remove the belt can’t see any other way to remove the belt but the motor mount is bolted on through frame and the nuts inside the frame are just spinning. Does this make sense or am I doing something wrong?

45bretster says:

Hi thanks for the great video. I am trying to do the same thing. Having trouble with taking off front motor mount. Do you know if this is necessary? Do you have an email address so I can send you a picture.

hp11208 says:

This system had no freon, didnt u hear when i said that.

Leroy Dennis says:

Why would you make a video with the proper installation of an ac compressor, and not show the right an proper way to vacume and recharge the system.

Zakry Zapata says:

@hp11208

Zakry Zapata says:

Shere would you recommend buying my compressor & dryer ?

hp11208 says:

You can do it this way too,if your changing the belt.

GMELECTRONICS365 says:

loosen your belt first , then remove the compressor bolts and also remove one of the battery terminals as a security measure.

GMELECTRONICS365 says:

Bad idea to purchase a rebuilt compressor they only last about 8 months .

jespinal29ify says:

Thank you for quick response

hp11208 says:

That’s too much should be less than 500.

jespinal29ify says:

Hi, how much is it for the compresser part with labor you think? They are trying to charge me $900. Does that sound accurate anybody know

hp11208 says:

It was the compressor made that sound when I was turning it.

SupremeJudge says:

Sounded more like a dog trying to get a hairball out.

hp11208 says:

Glad to hear its fix, thanks for the update.

9011combo says:

Greeting hp11208 i hope you’re well..i just want to update on The ac compressor that i had problem with,i had replaced The fan, drier and compressor itself, and now its good. Thank u for helping

hp11208 says:

Cool thanks.

vanzan99 says:

just the nose blowing in the back ground cracked me up. good info. i got a 95 suburban. i did the jump the relay thing to see if the compressor would come on like you said and it kinda came on making a terrible noise. so now i know i gotta do what you show here. really helping me out since never messed with this before.

hp11208 says:

Just unbolt the small bolts holding it.

lonedrifterka24 says:

How do you disconect the lines?

hp11208 says:

Okay thanks for that info.

hp11208 says:

There is a plug on the compressor disconnect it and give it 12v to see if the clutch will spin.

Davie Jones says:

If you have a Honda, check and see if it’s a scroll type of compressor. If so your in trouble! Your compressor is getting ready to lock up and may be already. Your compressor has exploded and has sent crap all up through your system and it ALL has to be replaced or you’ll be sorry. Your AC comes on with AC or defroster. Not the heater only.

Davie Jones says:

Look, Honda has been having problems with the scroll type compressors for some time now and are being replaced at an alarming rate! Honda has been sued over this issue and refuses to change the compressor to a piston type. When the scroll compressor goes bad it contaminates the whole system and it all has to be changed! If not your just wasting your time! I am a HVAC tech! I have dealt with them and they suck! Honda engineers didn’t know but now paying for it. Still putting them on new cars!

kevin gaxiola says:

Would you be able to explain the steps on how to give it direct power to see if it works?

hp11208 says:

This compressor was bad i gave it direct power it wont come on.Its better you replace the whole compressor and not just the clutch.

kevin gaxiola says:

How did you check that the clutch was bad? When I turn the A/C or heater on I get a very bad noise but a mechanic told me the A/C clutch is what needs to be replaced.

hp11208 says:

You can take it off this way dummy, but when you putting it back on then you need to loosen the tensioner. So Gtfu dick head.

Davie Jones says:

The belt is still on while you were taking out the bolts? Back yard mechanics! It’s no wonder the hospitals get costumers like you! Ya dip shit!

hp11208 says:

Anytime glad to help.

buhnsophal says:

I just bought an expansion valve, and I’m going to chang it first and if that don’t work I will have to chang the whole compressor like u..thanks a gain

hp11208 says:

9011combo says:

Thank u..

hp11208 says:

Change the orfice tube,or there might be moisture in the system.

9011combo says:
