2018 2019 Honda Accord- EASY DIY rattle fix

2018 2019 Honda Accord- EASY DIY rattle fix

Wanted to share my experience in eliminating that annoying dash rattle temporarily. It lasts about 2-3 months before it comes back. Since Honda has not done a revision on the part, this is the next best thing. It totally eliminates the noise. It’s a simply process. Thanks

Brought my 2019 sport 1.5t home yesterday. 30 miles in and I hear this annoying plastic rattle from the passenger side for couple seconds when accelerating at low speeds, obviously a dash/plastic trim issue. So annoyed.

Thanks! My Accord rattles on the dashboard area. Tried this solution, but no luck. I have a video on the rattle of my Accord. Thanks for any suggestion. https://youtu.be/xeAs4Gz2af8

After six attempts and numerous explanations and "fixes" by the dealership (the last being the replacement of an evaporator core air box), the buzzing noise from the dash was still occurring. So, I filed Florida Lemon Law against the manufacture. Unfortunately, I lost my case even though I was able to prove the buzzing noise and have the board actually hear the noise when they drove the vehicle, but they said it wasn't substantial enough to qualify for a lemon. Very disappointing, and I will not purchase another Honda.

Thank you so much Honda Jon! I have a 2018 Accord 1.5T Sport that I have owned for almost 2 months and have put 3000 miles on it. I hear this rattle sound coming from the dash when the engine is between 1200-1800 RPM. I started noticing it shortly after I bought the car brand new with only 43 miles on it. I was so bummed out, I didn't want to bring the car back because I know they would just tear the dash apart and would probably cause new rattling. So I did some searching around and found your vid. I tried what you suggested but it didn't fix the problem at all. I thought maybe you have the only Accord that temporarily fix the issue with cycling through the vent positions like you demoed. OR I have the only Accord that doesn't work with the vent cycling. I gave up hope after trying numerous times. But last week I watch your vid again and caught what you stress about you have to do the cycling many times, not just pushing the cycle button 6-7 times like I did. So I tried again but this time I pushed the vent cycling button about 15-20 times. And lo and behold, the rattling stopped, and it has been gone for 5 days now! I'm sure it will come back, but at least not for 2-3 months like you mention, I hope. SO, for those that this trick doesn't work for you, my suggestion is to keep trying, try to push the vent cycling button 20 times or more , about 1 second apart. Thank you.

Took my 2018 Accord Hybrid to the dealership and they confirmed the noise. Put some foam tape under the dashboard. Didn't fix it. Tried the fix suggested in this video and it worked. Hope Honda finds the permanent solution/fix and recall all 2018-19 Accords to fix it. All our vehicles are Honda and Acura. NO MORE HONDA's FOR NOW!!

Has anyone else noticed when the blower is set to dash & floor the center vents, directly above the controls and under the center display, barely trickle any air out of them? Compared to the outer dash vents that blow a lot harder. Something wrong but the dealer says new ones are the same so it is "by design"

Thank you so much for this video. I have been freaking out for a while now. Got a brand new accord and this shit started to happen within a month. I was about to take it to the dealership but will try this first as others have also mentioned that they hear the same noise in their new accord. Honda definitely need to come up with some permanent fix. But thank you for making this video.

You should put the word "rattle fix" in The Title somewhere….. Do what exactly before going to the dealer?. I got here from facebook. Wouldna never found it just browsing for this fix in youtube search. Thanks for helping out the community though. 🙂

I found a rattle that was driving me nuts very hard to find where the rattle really is. . Mine was on the passenger side of the car where they rest their left knee towards the middle cup holder area. Those side plastic pieces are just clipped on. If one of those clips are loose which happens a lot. You will get this terribly annoying rattle. I pulled the plastic off and taped around the clip with a small amount of electrical tape and pushed it back into the female end. Rattle gone. Check those side panels. The rattle will sound like its anywhere but where it really is. I drove and kept pushing everything to see if I could stop it. Finally found it. LOL
