I didn’t_ Just removed that “pinch” bolt in the back of the strut. Wiggle the yolk side down a little to get the room to move the strut out. It moved toward the back of the car and out. Good Luck
@Mendez, Struts with Spring replacement, feel great, new struts made a difference in the steering. My old springs were fine as well, I just didn’t want the hassle or danger of changing the spring from the strut myself. If you have a mechanic that will do it cheap- go for it. My car has 232,000 miles on it, runs like a top, but I’m not putting anything more in it then I have to. Good Luck
My 2006 Accord has the same problem. I need to replace the struts as well and i just figured that they cost $150 each with the spring, but the mechanic told me I can use the stock spring because it is in good condition. How did you car feel once you replaced them? Did you aligned the car after installing the struts?

Did you have to remove the “yolk” or could you just remove the pinch bolt and wiggle the strut up and out? Thanks for the vid
