Thanks man… kind of you to share your knowledge. Very clear and
helpful.

Hi my bottom hose burst, coolant leaks everywhere when I topped it up.
Drove it 4.5miles home. Could help explain to me why it’s happened and any
damage caused when I drove it home. Also I think I have been overfilling
the reservoir with water and also pressure hosed the bay several hours
before. Thanks.

lower radiator hose, not bottom

TBoone53 says:

i just need 2 replace the upper hose. will i still need 2 do all of that?

NutzAboutBolts says:

Yes this is the steps you need to do. The extra steps you need to do after
that is removing the ATF cooler hoses, and removing the radiator upper
brackets, then you can pull the radiator out. So this is what you need to
do. 1.) Drain engine coolant. 2.) Remove the upper and lower radiator
hoses, and ATF cooler hoses. 3.) Disconnect the fan motor connectors. 4.)
Remove the radiator upper brackets, then pull up the radiator. 5.) Remove
the fan shroud assemblies and other parts from radiator.

Adam Marquez says:

Guys I need help, I replaced the top hose alone about 4 months ago now its
going out again?? So soon. Why could this be?

NutzAboutBolts says:

You probably diluted the coolant so much that there wasn’t coolant in there
but water. Water alone can’t cool down your engine when its high
temperature unlike coolant. Also maybe you have a weak lower radiator hose
that it caused it to burst. Not too sure what else is damage, I know you
need to replace your lower radiator hose and check if your upper hose is
spongy or squishy and replace that as well.

Surojit Dasgupta says:

You can just take the whole radiator assembly and then reconnect the lower
hose and put it back.

NutzAboutBolts says:

could be a bad hose, is anywhere else leaking? have you flushed your
coolant? is your upper hose soggy or spongy?

NutzAboutBolts says:

just drain the coolant and remove the upper radiator hose, and then refill
your coolant.

TRSPrepping says:

Nice quality video… Good clear HD picture. I am guessing that you would
need to do all of that to pull the radiator as well? What extra steps would
I need to take? It looked like there was another line connected to the
radiator down where the lower hose connects to the radiator. Thanks for the
video!

I’m glad we did!
