@DarkFlight600 That cat always tries to get into my videos. He just showed
up in the yard one day and refused to leave, so we built him a house and
give him food.

I’d like to thank all those people like you, who give their time and effort
to help others. May God bless you.

hey man I have a 1993 Chevy astro also and need to replace the fan belt.
Fantastic video by the way. I was wondering if you could tell me which
pulleys should spin freely and which won’t. If we call the top left pulley
number 1 and the tensioner number 2 and so on in a clockwise direction
number 4 pulley spins but not so freely and number 6 doesn’t at all. The
rest seem fine. Do I need to replace any of the pulleys?

Thanks for posting this video, I am getting an Astro van and this is one of
the first things I need to do. My parents have the same situation with a
cat but she doesn’t bite once she gets to know you and she is the best
mouser I have ever run across.

hoohoohoblin says:

He sure does.

Your video helped me. Thanks

hoohoohoblin says:

You’re welcome.

hoohoohoblin says:

You’re welcome. Chad is a good cat, but I have never met a cat who bites
people as hard as he does. Usually they do a warning bite. He’s a lot less
bitey now than he used to be though. Putting the tensioner on is pretty
easy. You should have no problems doing it.

hoohoohoblin says:

You’re welcome. It is pretty easy to replace.

@TheCynthia121 You’re welcome. I’m glad people are finding my videos.

what year is your van?

hoohoohoblin says:

Top left pulley is alternator. #2 is the tensioner. #3 is the brake
booster. #4 is power steering. #5 is the fan & water pump. #6 is the
crankshaft on the engine. #7 is the idler pulley, which should spin freely
and doesn’t turn a pump. Of these pulleys, #2 (tensioner) and #7 (idler)
should spin freely.

hoohoohoblin says:

@unibrow5150 Thanks! The cat bites people and won’t go away, so I guess
he’s ours now. The van should last forever if I can get it to pass the
emissioins test.

Homie, that fucking kitty kat rules!

Nice neighbor and cat van man

masterdaddyking says:

Thanks bro. You saved me time & energy. Now I know I need a new tensioner.
I purchased a new belt but didn’t even know what a tensioner was. Now
because of this video, I know that the tensioner is the MAIN problem.

hoohoohoblin says:

I will have to get back to you tomorrow. I can’t get to the van, and the
manual doesn’t have a picture. But if you look at what is behind the
pullies, you can tell if they do something. The big one on the engine is on
the crankshaft and turns everything. The other ones either hook up to
pumps, or are just on a bearing. If it doesn’t look like a pump or
alternator, it should spin freely.
